Hmmm done with e02 and plot still feels boring and all . does it get better?
In my opinion it does get more emotional and engaging later on, but the drama keeps the same slow and subtle style throughout, so it really depends on whether that kind of storytelling works for you
Honestly, I never thought I’d reach a point where I actually want this drama to end faster just so the constant hate toward IU and Byeon Woo-seok finally stops. The amount of negativity surrounding this drama has become genuinely exhausting and sad to watch.
I completely understand that not everyone will like the plot, especially after episode 11 since that seems to be where many viewers suddenly turned against the drama, but I personally still find the story emotional and engaging. A plot changing direction, becoming heavier, slower, or more bittersweet does not automatically make it “bad.” Not every drama is supposed to stay predictable or satisfy everyone’s expectations.
What confuses me the most is how quickly criticism of the story turned into personal attacks against the actors themselves. Whether people like the writing or not, IU and Byeon Woo-seok have honestly been giving some of their strongest performances here in my opinion. Since the beginning, I’ve felt their acting, emotional delivery, and chemistry only kept improving more and more with each episode.
At this point, it feels less like genuine criticism and more like people decided beforehand that they wanted to hate this drama, and now every episode just becomes another reason to attack it no matter what it does
I am still curious as to why Byeon Woo Seok and IU chose this script (There is nothing new in the name of the…
Personally I think actors sometimes choose projects because they connect emotionally with the story or want to try something different, not just because it’s the safest or most commercially obvious choice. Not every comeback project has to be another “blockbuster” in the exact same style
The acting is bad then you’re saying the plot is interesting what!
Yeah but this is still a drama adaptation at the end of the day if the acting and execution don’t work for someone, then the original book plot alone won’t magically make the show enjoyable
It’s always the people who claim they can’t stand Byeon Woo-seok spending the most time talking about him…
Personally I think you’re taking normal entertainment industry behavior way too seriously. Co-stars promoting projects together, being friendly, holding hands at events, fanservice, or fans making edits/ships literally happens with actors everywhere, not just him. You can dislike his acting or not enjoy his dramas, that’s completely fine, but calling him “disgusting” or acting like he’s corrupting the world because of normal celebrity interactions feels really excessive to me. At some point it stops sounding like criticism and starts sounding more personal than the situation actually is
You should try the original audio with subtitles instead, the emotions and acting feel way more natural that way
I think those are their real voices, but they’re speaking Cantonese instead of the Mandarin Chinese most people are used to hearing in dramas, so it can sound a bit unusual at first and make the voices feel off
I knew it'd be queer series, people would be so homophobic and mad about Ok Taec Yeon being in a BL..
Honestly I feel like some of the extreme reactions are less about the actual quality of the drama and more about people being uncomfortable with the queer undertones or their expectations not being met
All these comments about crying makes me want to skip it… is it a sad ending?
It’s definitely emotional and bittersweet, but I think a lot of the reactions come from people expecting a very different type of drama 😭 many went in expecting a more obvious or typical BL romance, while the show focused much more on emotional connection, longing, and atmosphere instead
I agree a lot of people seem to think a story only counts as BL if there are kisses or explicit scenes, when emotional…
the drama already gave so many emotional and intimate moments through the looks, tension, chemistry, and dialogue that I honestly never felt like it needed explicit scenes to make the relationship feel real. And you’re right, Korean and Japanese dramas in general are usually much more subtle with intimacy anyway, even in straight romances, so I never expected this drama to suddenly become extremely explicit either

sometimes it feels like when people watch stories about two men, the first thing they look for is kisses or sex scenes to “prove” the relationship is real, when emotional attachment, longing, vulnerability, and the way the characters care for each other can already say so much on their own. Not every queer story needs to be extremely explicit to feel meaningful or romantic

Exactly, and I think that’s what a lot of people are missing intimacy doesn’t always have to mean explicit scenes or physical fanservice. The drama already gave so many emotionally close moments, subtle tension, and vulnerable interactions that made their relationship feel deeper than just ordinary friendship to many viewers
