It's not slow burn, they are conscious of their feelings pretty quickly. It's actually CZ's inner conflicts that prevent them from being together (and also her master and righteous sects being against it).
The story is really well paced, so many intrigues, secondary characters, even tiers ones, have so much texture, a real story, I didn't mind.
Domestic scenes are only 2 or 3 last chapters. Not that much fluff.
It was a really refreshing novel. I've been reading xianxia or rebirth novels these last few years, so I understand your reluctance regarding fluff and domestic scenes.
Yโall might find it cute, but ML like this is genuinely irritating and annoying to me, like thereโs so much…
Agree but according MQY's perspective: he lived his first five years deprived of any care/attention, until his father came to him. He then learnt about affection etc. In the process, he saw how his father, aspiring for freedom, was mentally "chained" to the sect because of his lineage. His father couldn't pursue what was important for him, always compromising for the greatest good, and in the end, he died, poisoned by his wife (who abandoned both husband and son).
It's quite sensible that seeing this, MQY just doesn't want to sacrifice himself. Yes he wants revenge, but somehow, he got to meet CZ and have found some lights with her, something he thought was lost since his father's death. So he won't lose this light and will do everything (now that the Lei sect matters are quite stable) to not lose her. Since he has the power to do so...
And it was more consistent in the novel because Nie Zhe was already dead during all these chang tomb's arc. So it didn't feel like MQY has no focus.
It's such a shame because he wasn't always this present between ML and FL in the novel. He had his own time with…
Yes! Much better than many xianxiao dramas I've read these past few years ๐ everything is much more explained. There are so many details and characters that I think that the 37 episodes wouldn't have been enough.
I'm reading it again, this time from the beginning because I only started the novel when I didn't want to wait for the episodes 8-9 to air.
Hi, does anyone know the title of the BGM in episode from 37:30 to 39:05 when heroine Luo talked about how her sect leader abandoned her senior because he was envious? It's a very moving cords instrument theme. Thanks a lot
yuzhi i love his character but he keeps hanging around FL and ML it makes their dynamic relationship kinda weak.…
It's such a shame because he wasn't always this present between ML and FL in the novel. He had his own time with FL, this, I wasn't tired of reading about him. But here... It's tiring to see this childish triangle interaction.
In the 80's, Barbara Yung and Michael Miu, respectively Huang Rong and Yang Kang, were paired in the New adventures…
I've just read some critics from vietnamese news, fortunately they don't blame Bao Shang En only. Though it seems that her acting is only about opening her eyes bigger to express her feelings. Well, it seems to me that she was a little bit more subtle ๐

Really? That's so unfair, the 1st 2 episodes were indeed too rapid for me because I got used to do other things while watching dramas these past few years. But when I took my time enjoying the following episodes, no issue - and that was before reading the novel.
I'm quite surprised by the Chinese audience's reaction though ๐
Well, just like in life, there is no ONE villain, no ONE individual responsible of multiple events, there are…
Definitely, the one behind tragedies like Chang's family massacre is Qi Yunke.
However, he got crazy because he wants justice for his dear friend Cai Pingshu who died in great suffering due to multiple factors: - Nie Hengcheng, precious Li sect leader who became ambitious and wanted to live longer to unify the world, thus succumb to the tentation of a forbidden art which drove him crazy, massacring people and absorbing life energy from strong martial artists. That was the very reason why Cai Pingshu couldn't let him keeping like this and though she was alone, after losing her sworn brothers, she accepted to sacrifice herself to finish Nie Hengcheng.
- Mu Zhengyang who wanted revenge for his family and himself, whatever the means. He was wicked and created situations for Nie Hengcheng to learn about the how to practice the forbidden art to live longer. He betrayed Cai Pingshu with this kind of ambition and killed her sworn brothers. She couldn't rely on anyone anymore to fight Nie Hengcheng.
- Yin Dai and Yang something (previous Siqi sect leader, paternal grandfather of Xiaolan). They were leaders righteous sects yet they were hypocrites. Yin Dai would claim justice but send innocent people into no hope fights juste to eradicate future threats for example, he woul take over his disciple's wealth for his own use.
- the Yin twin sister's manipulations
Very early, Qi Yunke said that he didn't believe in karma anymore. However, recently, he said that justice somehow will find its way. He is the villain from our view, but he just think himself as the one who will deliver justice.
