I don't understand why his lead roles fall flat. In every side character role I've seen him in he is a scene stealer.
Really ? It's my first time watching him in a drama. Maybe he lacks the "serious"/dramatic vibe for a good ML rôle? I'm currently watching Fated hearts and I can't help seeing that he and Chen zheyuan have a lot of facial similarities. Darren Chen seems to emit more nice vibes. Hope he can have better ML rôle, I really loved his fighting scenes.
Darren Chen was such a nice find! I loved his facial expressions, he played the delicate gentleman so well, and yet his martial fighting stands looked pretty firm.
This drama was really refreshing and I love the visuals. However, it's such a shame that Li Landi's hair designs were not consistently nice. I really couldn't understand why they decided to add two long strands behind her when she was a Wang fei. The crown prince's and cheng Wang's wives had hairs that really fitted with their face, really elegant and noble. But for our FL 🙄 Idem with her hair during the opera arc, the strands on her sides and the little something right behind her ears... It is such a shame...
Thankfully, Li Landi is such a great actress, I was really happy to watch this drama!

First thing to be said : there were not the 4 Wei generals as described in the drama. There were indeed a Wei Liang and a Wei Xu/Qu generals. There were generals with other names but no kind of sworn brothers. No romance with Xiao Tao.
The politics is also different: Wei Shao ended up raising as the Emperor after many wars. Bi Zhi became a valued general to Qiao. Wei Liang was indeed injured by Qiao uncle so Qiao Ci kind of became his disciple to apologize. During the final war, Xiao Qiao was in Kanjun with Feifei and Da Qiao and her son Lit were also there.
Wei Shao and Xiao Qiao became emperor and empress, they were very much acclaimed. They had a daughter, then a son. He had no other concubine, only one empress.
ML's good delivery with his own voice (not just pretty face)
Li Qin is great. Best female warrior I've seen for years. Her fighting scene are powerful yet elegant. She reminds me of HK dramas in the 80's.
The amnesia plot is nicely handled.
