Episodes 28&29: it's the quiet before the storm

Poor Yan An, the actor playing Song Han.
I have nothing against him, it's my first time noticing him in a drama. But the truth is that he does not have the classical visual for a hero in a this kind of drama.
Since the early episodes, I felt that he looks so strange compared to Song Mo, why was the casting so different?? There must be reason. Inner unspeakable ambition? Not his real brother?
Then his behaviour was so inconsistent.

Anyway, I'm curious to see if this actor will be able to go beyond the vicious character of Song Han 🤔

It's important to set the stage for the final arc and it's outcome. It's a pity people refuse to understand that.

The 1 ep a day is not working for me because 2 eps are required to set the stage and then deliver the outcomes.

But here, we are coming to the end, so I think that it takes more time to set the whole stage. They are building it but by bit and with only 1 ep a day, it's very hard to keep the interest..

To compensate, I'm replaying the previous eps because I always notice details I didn't pay enough attention the 1st time watching 😅

1. Tragedy is coming: An Su who will be manipulated, will hurt Dou Zhou, will lost her brother, will kill the man she loves

2. Drama is intensifying: what about this poison?? What will be the treatment for him to live longer?? Will baby 1 be born before the end of the drama and then we'll learn about the baby?

3. Mystery will be solved: is the Empress and her son behind all Jiang's tragedy? Why didn't the emperor do anything to punish them?

Ep 28 looks weaker than previous ones because there were many outcomes. This ep is building the stage for the very last arc.
Though it's frustrating that we didn't get to see our main couple, I think it's mostly due to the 2eps/day we got used to 😅 so now, let's be all patient and wish for the express to be deliver on Saturday. (Still Friday in Paris 😅)

No it wasn't shown. But someone rightfully pointed out that the father was "requested" by the people above to sacrifice for the sake of his beloved son.

Yes, these past years, we had many white hair guys in xianxia dramas. Silky white hair. Here, it's really refreshing with this rebellious grey hair, yet so natural

I'm pretty sure he was the one who had an affair with Song Mo's maid who died right after her.

I am so biased, in non modern style, his hair in Blossom, either gray or black, is the best

Indeed, in their past life, he did say that Song Mo and Dou Zhou were key to solve the situation so somehow w he should accept it.

But I'm sad for her mariage life in this 2nd life.

Though main issues here are:
1. Wei's sister: she refuses to really work but they only wants to capture other people's wealth
2. this aristrocracy way of life: no money and no efficient money management. They refuse to cut in spendings they can't afford anymore
3. Of course, her husband cowardise and lazyness. As the emperor said, the marquis family used to have wariors, but this guy is only about arts and poems. He's is so off ground. The message here is quite clear: you may be rich but you have the responsibility to teach your children that they must have the means to afford any of their passions.

I wish for the actors to get the recognition they deserve.
But I'm happy to see that budget is spent on professionnal production staff who know what they do.
This drama is so refreshing to watch. It's clean, the storyline is nice and consistent, traditional elements are respected, there is drama, mystery, romance and also comedy, good characters developments...
