One thing i hate is misogynists. Calling Carrie a c*nt makes you the c*nt. Grow up and stop acting like an assh.ole…
Im really glad you enjoyed it. I got bored first time i tried watching it and then it drew me in. Its so tragic and beautiful. Its one of those films that still lingers in my mind.
Someone said that in the book, Jonathen dies in a car accident. Shane and Jonathan never see each other after the paring at the beach. I feel for Jonathan the most because his life trajectory changed because of his emotions.
Yes, I love toxic BLsðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜I am so glad that the ML is more toxic in this than in the mahwa. The actors…
Same. Im happy about Korea going dark bl, Their tv series are polished and stylized and so more toxic darker bls would hit the spot. Fun and cute is good as well BUT unless they are a bit original they easily become boring as they reuse the same formula. I have only watched one episode, but the actor Jeong Ri U playing the ML is doing such a great job. (they both are).
Im relatively new to bl/yaoi (Found out about bl/yaoi about Dec last year) and I am very new to manhwas/manhwas - probably around September this year. In Oct I discovered sites with translated Danmei and Korean web novels. (Although I had read Addicted and The Stand in earlier this year, on a random website, Ii didnt know about webnovels and that so many people were translating and reading them)
Its weird that I dont read mangas (they are supposed to be better) as I dont like comics in black and white, and there is too much to read which I find it tiresome in comics, and then I would rather just read the novel.
lol, I guess you confuse best and most steamy, or how many Korean dramas you watched?
lol - not a problem. The best case win scenario is that "moonchild" would have recommended some steamy good Korean bls that we missed.
I know we have a similar taste in toxic and steamy. I must confess that when I come across your comments, I often look at your profile page and watch list in case I am missing out on any shows,
lol, I guess you confuse best and most steamy, or how many Korean dramas you watched?
So then could you name other best, steamy and toxic Korean bl tv dramas?
Koreans tend to produce chaste bl characters with misunderstandings and miscommunications driving the plot. And its a similar story with a predictable formula but a change in actors and situations. For a lot of us "great" is dealing with complex psychological characters and exploring moral ambiguity. Korea does fluff and formula.
Love in the big city, to my Star, Semantic. (8th Sense - havent finished yet) error are brilliant but rare - so apart from those what would you list as best?

lol I knew i would eventually see you here.
I have only watched one episode but I hope actor continues to play him darker. Adding self reflection to a dark character makes him unusual and adds an interesting dimension.
If you want toxicity in BLs. read manhwas and webnovels. Koreans are leagues ahead in toxicity here, which is contrary to their tv shows with the sweet chaste fluffy bl characters. I never knew female writers could hate men so much and be so twisted - judging by what they make the MC go through.
I have seen up to episode 3. Kida Naoya is captivating in this role. He is convincing in the character he is portraying - feminine and artsy. Tomito Yuki is so really good looking. I like the sincerity and principles of his character
Pleasantly surprised by this and how much i enjoyed it. Its cute and its different from many typical Japanese bls. I liked the concept of two popular guys who are terrible at relationships dating each other and finding they can relate.
I liked that it wasnt about misunderstandings and miscommunications but instead sorting through there emotions.
It's so weird, how in Korea, even the most personal life news about a celebrity comes from their freaking agency.…
it feels phony. And the system really sucks. But then again one PR mistake in korea can end your career. The public gets emotional over the actions of the actors/singers and cant wait to pounce if they fall out of line.
If i was a celebrity there i wouldnt make a move without professional advice.
Cant wait so Im busy reading the manhua which so far (season1) is not toxic compared to other darker manhwa series. I found the character of Seo Jeong Han is more dark here in the series (which i love) than manhua. I like the actors interpretation. In the manhua is is a self aware but a fool (but not aware of that he is a fool bit). As a character, he is different than most ML in that he acknowledges when he is in the wrong which is very unusual for the ML "top" characters
This show so far (ep1) is superior to a lot of the current bl offerings. I suppose its partly because I prefer interesting and more toxic characters.
It was raw. And painful. Finding out about partners infidelity. I wish this was longer and more coherent (The issue may be the bad translations) which is a pity because its a series that deals more with the character / emotions and dialogue. I feel it could have been expanded on the topics it brought up.
There is a song by Marina and the Diamonds - "Im a ruin" and its unusual. Its sung from the perspective of somebody who will cheat and damage their partner. We usually hear songs from the perspective of those who are heart broken). I would have loved it if they had part 2 where they explored it from the cheating parties perspective.
I wasnt going to watch it but i saw Liang Si wei .
I dont watch verticals and I understand that they are lower budget so Im not going to use same criteria I would for higher budget productions. I feel such productions should be encouraged. The concept was cute but there were lots of cliches and it was melodramatic which is not my type of show. But I can see how it would be enjoyed by a lot of people.
highly overrated! the story alone was a joke. maybe if I got drunk/high to watch, it would be somewhat ok
Its not bad per say, and it was produced well and Im glad it was successful for actors and studio. But I agree with you.
I enjoyed the first few episodes and then I got bored. It become predictable and/or I just didnt care about the story after a while. Its about a curse but it wasnt scary, and the story was not that original, it was not that clever to capture my interest. I prefer character or dialogue driven series and it was not strong on this either.
Its hyped up because its good for Thai bl production and it delivered the face cards.
Watching this now. Poom is so attractive, easily the best looking of them all. To me he has a slight resemblance…
Agree. i saw him on a clip from another series on youtube and i was amazed at how good looking and striking he was, and stood out amongst a bunch of other good looking guys. I didnt focus on his looks in this series but i do remember how well he acted - that scene in the elevator did it for me. (with ming)
I rated it a seven because it was badly done but the actors were good and deserved better. It was filmed during…
lol - i quietly (never comment) browse reddit r/askgaybros so I'm a bit aware (although some of the real life issues are serious and sad ). I wish more men got involved in writing bls. That is also why "Only friends" is good. Its written by a man. Bls are weird in that they are written by straight woman for women. I stumbled upon genre after watching The Untamed (I didnt know what was bl then). Im 100 straight female but I dont seek the fluffy unrealistic bls that bl audience enjoys here.
A korean series is "Love in the big city" and from Taiwan a film called "Eternal Summer" still linger in my mind as they are more realistic then bl. Eternal Summer was not a happy ending particularly in the novel. Have you got an example or can you recommend a series that has a realist portrayal that is aligned with you taste - re bls /lgbt. . I would be interested

its amusing as Bl is written mainly by straight woman who think like woman . Obviously the "bottoms " in bls behave like blushing virginal teenage girls who value chastity and hold back - instead of a typical young male.
I also hate the sound effect on 99% of bls- its annoying and ruin its for me but thats Thai i guess
The STORYTELLING is weird. Now, a year before, six months later, etc. I wish the director would have chosen more…
I rated it a seven because it was badly done but the actors were good and deserved better. It was filmed during covid and rushed and they did their best i guess.
The first episode was so good, it didn't feel like a gmmtv production at all
Same with Only Friends. It didnt feel like gmmtv and its was good. I wish gmmtv produced more bl dramas that are more grown up, and which are plot and character driven. Im finding the fluffy bl couple driven dramas with their well worn tropes, immature and the predictable and they are boring me.
There wasn't much detail. It was posted on 2020 I think.
The fact that there was a cost involved (risk to losing business or reputation or getting in trouble) to make a stand makes it more unlikely that its virtue signaling. The hypocrites only get on board when its a free ride.

I have watched over 130 korean dramas/films.
