Also how do you review a series when you have only watched 1 episode?

I have also looked at the written reviews on IMDB (31 Jul25) and there are 61 written reviews.
Sixty reviewers have given this show a 10. They reviewed it around 4-6 of May after having viewed max 2 episodes.

The good thing about imdb is that reviews can be downvoted - and that has been done there.

I wasn't aware of that until recently (been here less than a yr).

One or two weeks ago, I had noticed that there were 11 pages of reviews for this series from people that had only watched 1 episode . And they had all (i think over 95%) scored it a perfect 10 on all metrics. Yes I had counted.
People are not posting more honest reviews.

I saw the opposite for Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy. So many 1 day accounts (although i have been told that there are good reasons when i had discussions on that board).

I hope that is the takeaway (and not we want more of this)

Re giving criticism - It doesnt always need to be objective. There is a difference between saying its bad and it made me feel bad. You don't always need or are able to explain or rationalise feeling something to others.

I agree with you about having darker characters. That is why Im drawn to toxic dramas. The complexity of the characters make the dramas more fun and interesting. I also kindof wish they were not hung up on ships because if they have the same partner they fall into the same stereotypes.

Funnily enough after reading up your review which discussed Zee (and being remined that he can act) I saw someone discussing his performance on reddit this morning.

I agree with you (as do so many here) but despite that people are still watching it, and its supposedly doing well.

I have looked at your reviews. You have gone into so much detail. I wish the producers could take notes.
Unlike you my scores went lower as the episodes progressed. I lost more interest the more I watched the show. There wasnt enough JimmyOhm (or NetJJ) to contain my interest.

I agree with you about Zee. I thought he was good acting in WhyRU (fighter character) yet its unfortunate he is typecast into a wooden type character when playing opposite NN (NN plays NN). They both play the same character roles over and over, when acting together.

That is right. We have a duty to speak up about the quality of the shows we get otherwise whatever we get is acceptable.

- how they are mad at the fans for hyping up subpar shows just to support their faves

I agree with you that on a lot of metrics this show is extremely successful. And I dont want Domundi to fail because I dont want everything GMM.

You cant deny that a lot of users are disappointed with this drama. And its not all due to bias. Some were keen on this show from the beginning but changed minds as they continued to watch it. (I admit that I was never keen but hoping to be persuaded otherwise). You also cant deny that a lot of fans of NNZ love this show because of bias.

I hope Domundi make a lot of money and invest it in scriptwriters instead of expensive setups.

I agree that the other relationships didnt add value to main story especially with 6 episodes.

I have only just heard of this and was also interested but I think I will read the books because the film does not explain the universe.

Thanks for insight. I have only become aware of manhwa / film today because of an article on MDL main page. The trailer on IMDB made me interested but your comments made me disappointed in this film.

Its annoying when filmmakers are not true /authentic to the original material BUT and its even worse is when they decide to recreate the story (or not to stick to the source) but then expect the viewer to have read the books to understand what is going on. They are not pleasing anyone.

They should at least make that clear that its going to be a derivation of the material and then make it coherent to those who have not read the books and are clueless about this universe.

Thanks. Its not good or bad news for me. Im not invested in the film or actor but more interested in how the ratings are so skewed because of the manhwa fans anger (which is understandable) but also that means i cant get an objective opinion.

The movie seems interesting judging by the trailer. It would be nice to get an objective review or opinion.

Its also a joke when 99% of the reviews on MDL are 1 but it still does not tell me anything. Except angry bitter and disappointed fans of the underlying novel. In IMDB 90% of the reviews give this a 1 and 8% a 10. Same story there.

Obviously, I would also not consider the opinions of MDL accounts only created to rate a 1 for this movie to be objective. I would rely more on critic reviews for this one.
