The imdb rating is not good or bad but a joke. Its obvious is that 90% gave it a 1 and 8% gave it a 10. If we exclude those ratings it would prob be around 6.5

The reviews are so annoying. I would also like an unbased opinion based on film rather then how true it is to novel /manhwa.
I get that it may not be faithful adaptation but the trailer has made me interested.

i think because the hype was so much, so the disappointment is greatest.
Its not badly produced (not that im an expert) - but they promised too much and underdelivered. With that budget they could have hired more script writers and done testing to see public reaction

The main narrative flaw in TNP is that it just bores.

Its not your typical bl - more raw and better dynamics between male leads (it did not feel like typical bl written by woman for woman) and it felt more genuine
Characters could have been belter developed if there were more episodes.
Acting + NC scenes were good.

its committed the ultimate sin of boring the public who are not NNZ fanatics. The NNZ crowd will eat up anything they offer.

Other dramas can be worse but they dont spend a fortune (and oversell themselves) and then be this bland.

In the first episode, it actually felt, and I thought that it would be a toxic show but Im not seeing it anymore, so I was wondering what I was missing.
lol unlike the rabid fans of another drama show, I actually enjoy negative or differing opinions

lol I can relate to all that. They know what gets me to commit to a show.

They stated that they intentionally went for the 2020 vibes.

I agree that a lot of things could have been done a lot of things better but I can overlook most of its faults if Im entertained. Unfortunately I think those things that disappoint are part of the show.
One thing that annoys me is the irritating music - but that is most Thai productions.

I dont understand why they feel the need to put girls in bls AND then to make them so annoying and irritating.

l don't care about this dramas imperfections - I can overlook all that as long as the show entertains me. And so far so good.

lol also 100% agree about the other bl show that I cant wait until it ends so I can be put out of my misery.

You are correct about the stereotypes and tropes but despite all that its still entertaining and I want to see more. I also think its cute and the show does not bore me. (So i forgive a lot)

Im really interested to understand what you found to be toxic. Is any conflict or a disagreement between characters described as toxicity? In real life people fight, cheat, breakup, etc. Should we not see all that type of behaviour in dramas?
I think its more messy then toxic so far.

It most certainly deserves to flop because its bad considering the money they have spent. If you are a NNZ fan then you would love this show. For most of us its boring.
I dont care what happens next - except to breath a sigh of relief when it finally ends.

Absolutely, the main focus was a vanity project for NNZ which is driven by HYPE. The end result was style over substance.

Personally, I would rather watch a low budget but interesting and entertaining bl than something that bores me.

Some of my favourites are also Thai - Between Us, My stand in and Only Friends. Currently there are a lot of good Thai productions especially some of the latest ones eg TopForm, Reset etc,

I think the problem with Thai bls is that they have a set budget which limits resources. And they produce a lot of quantity. Sometimes focus on quantity

lol I admit to being a bit shallow re the good looking characters. But in all honesty I can overlook a lot in quality as long as I am being entertained. Sometimes the budget is not there and I can accept that.

You dont have to watch like a NYT critic - BUT you should be entertained and engaged by the drama you are watching. That is the ultimate criteria for a successful show to the viewer. This show is not doing that for a lot of people.

I see the score has dropped down to an 8 now.
