This one truly bend my tolerance to the extent of breaking. 🄲
Tbh, I watched the bulk of them during the lockdown. The rest I binge during the weekend cuz I have no friends in real life, people are exhausting šŸ˜‚.

I watched Si Jin! I’m interested in hearing your opinion about it, I’ll save mine until you are done watching cuz I don’t want to risk influencing your mind šŸ˜….

Idk how the new season of Taxi Driver will be but my favorite part is when the bad guys get what they deserve lol. The payback is therapeutic, unlike in other dramas where the payback is light.

Have you watched ā€œVigilanteā€? Watching the beatings of the bad guys that was medicinal

ā€œTowards the end, I just want slide him inside a sack and beat the heck out of him.ā€ šŸ’ÆšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ‘. My friend!! You are hilarious šŸ˜‚.

Yup, same as you, I also needed something light to cleanse and calm down lol. I don’t remember what I watched after it but I do pray you find something to sooth the nerves.

I apologize for not warning you enough šŸ˜…. This drama is not for the faint of heart BUT we cannot say that it was a bad production. I believe the way they wrote Lu BuWei and the repetitive murder attempts are what pushed the viewers to the edge.

This was a proper script, we felt all the emotions while watching.

I’m glad I watched Yanxi first because even though he was also bad in it, he was not such a premium trash as he was playing BuWei.

Yes! The Queen was also a good character. I envy the way she could keep her cool. The actress was also great with her facial expressions.

Let me know what you watch next, I’ll be on the lookout for your reviews šŸ˜„.

I’m personally waiting for Taxi Driver 3 tomorrow, I know you are taking a break from Koreans so let me know what you find.

Ok I’m done reading and you honestly made me laugh out loud. You took me back to the feelings I had while watching the drama.’

Lu BuWei was a brute.

I wasn’t sure who she’d end up with but let me tell you that I would have destroyed my screen if the end guy would have turned out to be him. The level of frustration and rage I experienced because of him, I never experienced if from a character .

I personally was also disappointed on how she made her son turn into an incompetent and spoiled brat. She ruined him by raising him that way.

My favorite actress was that ā€œPrincess of Hanā€, she was trash but idk, her character was likable at the same time to me.

During the last episodes, I caught myself a few times directing these words at Hao Lan ā€œ Youuuuuu dumb šŸ•!ā€ ā€œYou and your dumb son!ā€ā€¦ the frustration had to come out.

Can we also talk about how her husband didn’t let her see him?? That pos made sure that he stayed in her mind for as long as she lived. He knew that anger from not seeing him would keep him relevant until her last breath.

Anyway, the drama was good with production etc.. but these frustrations will stop me from watching it again. At the end, I remember telling the person who recommended it to me ā€œI need to watch something else to cleanse my brain from all this dumba$$ery.ā€

Did you watch this one after I mentioned it in the comment last time? I feel like I didn’t give you enough warnings about the level of frustration. I’m glad to see that we are in agreement šŸ¤.

ā€œFirst, I must thank God and the heavens for granting me the unyielding tolerance required to get past the blood-boiling and overly frustrating first half of this drama.ā€ šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ā€¦ ok let me keep reading.

Why is the kiss so important to you guys? I really want to understand.
Don’t forget that the actors also need to fit whatever beauty standards the viewers want or else the drama wil get lower rating. It’s as if ā€œwho cares about the quality of the script??? Give us hot looking people and enough kisses and touching that it looks like soft porn. Give us that because we can’t have it in real life and we are horny!ā€ šŸ˜‚

šŸ¤ā€¦ā€œIs there a kiss in this drama?ā€ ā€œIs the romance good?ā€ ā€œThe drama was good but no kissingā€ā€¦ The people are lonely, it’s abnormal behavior šŸ˜ž.

They also confuse romance with sexual behavior. Romance doesn’t always have to be physical and sexual behavior is not always romantic.

It’s because there’s an epidemic of loneliness these days. IMO that’s why romantic dramas are so popular. People are lonely so they live vicariously through fictional characters. Characters kissing is like they themselves are having that moment… idk about the specific reason for the OP to ask for kiss but I’ve noticed this phenomenon since covid era during the lockdown. It’s also now increasing because the younger generations want things happening quick, the popcorn generation is lonely šŸ˜ž.

P.S. I took a look at the dramas you’ve reviewed because I thought we might share some similar tastes. I’ve…
I think the new wave of Chinese drama fans are to blame for the quality dropping. It seems like many are quite young and immature, they mostly care about the look of the actors and actresses. They couldn’t care less about the quality of the script. That results in screenwriters becoming lazy in the writing. You see comments on how hot an actor looks. You’ll see in the comments ā€œis there kissing in this drama?ā€ and other shallow questions like that. I think there’s an epidemic of loneliness worldwide and people live through characters. People are craving romantic relationships in real life so all they expect from dramas is hot romance.

The viewers like us who want substance, we are becoming rare so there’s less for us now. Ridiculous dramas will get high ratings as long as the actors are pleasing to the eyes.

ā€œMarvelous Womenā€ will , hopefully, satisfy you. As a woman myself, it was refreshing to see smart and strong women in action. You can definitely find it on YouTube or ā€œkisskhā€. Happy watching 😃!

Thank you so much ā˜ŗļø!

Same, I stepped away from western entertainment because it stopped making sense. Too much perversity, useless violence, no morals etc… I started watching Korean and Chinese around 2021. I only like historical settings for the longest because the stories were refreshing and the way people dress are elegant. Characters still have some sort of morals. I can watch even the ones set in the early 1900s but after that, I have a hard time. Modern era dramas are starting to look ā€œAmericanizedā€ and I really can’t stand it šŸ™ƒ.

I really enjoy ā€œmeetingā€ likeminded viewers on these kisskh streets as well 😊.

Haha now I feel the pressure! Hopefully my high rated ones will satisfy you šŸ˜…. It’s becoming so rare to find good dramas, the ones that aired after 2022 are really below average. Seems like the pandemic made screenwriters and actors get rid of talent.

Thank you for your message. I’m glad to hear that you also wish to see more inspirational, educational, or intelligent…
You know, I took some time to examine this phenomenon where people online will attack random strangers over opinions. Here’s what I concluded:

1) people these days really have poor reading and comprehension skills. They read something but don’t understand what they read so they attack and it makes them look foolish.

2) Many people now have low emotional intelligence. They cannot understand that others can have different opinions. This will result in those people feeling attacked when an opinion is different from theirs. Low emotional intelligence is mostly seen on toddlers but now we have grown ups acting like children. Immaturity is what we are seeing here. Adult bodies but toddlers mental age.

3) These ā€œgrown upsā€ don’t know how to regulate themselves. You can say ā€œoh the sky is pretty todayā€. Someone will say ā€œoh so now you are showing off that you can see??! How insensitive! Think of people who are blind before showing off your ability to see?!ā€ā€¦ Most people have gone mad. I think social media is partly to blame because now people feel comfortable acting a fool because we can’t see them. They are confident with their foolishness.

- Bullies. People are becoming online bullies, their real lives are challenging so they come online like cowards and feel the power they need to feel when they talk disrespectfully to others. Talking like that while being anonymous gives them an outlet, they can’t deal with their bullies in real life so they come online to act though.

- Cult like behavior. These people are acting like cult members, if you talk bad about their ā€œguruā€ aka favorite actor, they start acting crazy foaming at the mouth.

As far as I’m concerned, I’ll say whatever I want to say when it comes to my opinion about a drama. People need to understand that acting is art and art can be subjective, we don’t have to all like the same thing. Let someone try to bully me into being quiet about my opinion, I will gladly gather them if I have time.

I caved in and watched the 1st episode and to be honest, after the gift he gave her, I kind of want him to suffer…
Maybe it’s her family that is bad and he’s protecting her from them. It’s usually like that with dramas, they’ll make us hate someone and then flip it to reveal that in fact he did well treating some people like that. I feel like there’s more but the emperor is not telling her yet to ā€œprotect herā€. Her father looks like a bad guy.

I made it to half of the second episode before dropping. It’s predictable and I agree with all that you said about the fl and the plot in general. It’s looking like everyone is her enemy and the emperor married her to protect her. Of course she doesn’t see it so she will hate him for a while, he’ll let her do that and he’ll suffer from it. The same old plot… You are right, we need new intelligent plots.
