I honestly stopped looking at the ratings. People will rate shitty dramas high just because their favorites are on it. I’m also convinced that a lot of the k and c dramas fans now are very shallow. They don’t care about the script as long as the actors are “hot”. Hopefully we get good storylines soon. “A Prophet” looks promising but idk when it’ll release.

I agree with you, the storyline was average. It wasn’t different from the others we’ve seen (there have been more intricate and more interesting plots). What saved the drama was 1) the visuals (costume, makeup, editing etc…) 2) it arrived at a time people were bored and needed a drama to watch and 3) the actors played very well.
This is her early past project, shoot back in 2020 or 2021, I dont think you will get what you expected. I'll…
Glad to know I’m not alone who felt that way.
I suspect they have some sort of connections in the industry. No way she got lead role with those skills. All she did was opening her eyes big when she was surprised or scared. Yup, both leads there looked awkward and yes, stiff. It’s as if they were posing for photo shoots instead of acting.
1) you are right, it was a bit long and 30 would have been more than enough.
2) She was not going to enter the city because it was the day to remember the Wei men who were killed. Her being the family of the “traitor”, it would have looked bad. That’s why he made her wait outside of the city gate. She had a fever but he didn’t realize it was severe since she was still up when they arrived. He also didn’t know the others would leave her outside for 3 days. His fault was assuming that she was being taken cared of and he didn’t leave proper instructions. He trusted that horny jealous cousin of him to take care of her. His lack of communication + the jealousy of the other girl were the culprits. We also have to remember that he still hated her family.
3) His grandmother is the one who started to forgive and that’s why she agreed to marry them even though he was not interested. The grandmother (who lost her husband , son and grandson) had already let go of the grudge and anger. It took him time but he fell in love with her but that doesn’t mean he was not conflicted. Because he loved her, he asked his grandmother if it was ok to open his heart to her and his grandmother in a way gave him permission. Going to see where she grew up and ONLY accepting her father and brother didn’t mean that he forgot everything. What else could he do? He loved the wife and her father and bother were not the ones responsible for what happened. His grudge was towards her grandfather who was already dead.
You didn’t ask but I added this for the ones who will read your review 😊.

🥴… I don’t understand how she gets main lead roles with those skills. The fist time I saw her acting was in that drama that recently ended. I had to drop it at episode 3 cuz her acting was annoying me.
I think curiosity will make me check the first episode because of the synopsis but I fear I’ll drop if she gives us similar or worse performance.
I feel like I should wait and watch this during winter? I know it sounds weird but if anyone understands what I’m saying, would you say the vibe is winter or summer watching?

Exactly 😄!
Ooh my where to begin with the book recommendations?! There are so many and different genres. I’d say the top 4 that can give you an idea of the type topics that interest me the most (my everyday and professional life) are

Some of my favorite solo activities:
- trying new restaurants alone (so I can focus on the full experience without distractions).
- sitting and doing nothing in silence and peace.
- bird watching.
- going to museums to realized how most of us have been lied about history (I was told people back then were not as “advanced” as us when it came to technology…lies).
I have finished it. It was entertaining and boring at the same time which is why i finished it, a weird experience… the positive doesn’t outweigh the negative here. You will not find me again in these dramaland streets watching another 40+ episodes. This was my first time and I have suffered.
