I’m sorry guys but i’m a huge fan of the OG PA, and i watched up to episode 5 and this is not it. Lol. i can’t…
Same, I'm very irritated watching this. I'm not feeling any of the male leads in their role and I came for LYR ughh! This may be my exit after watching episode 5.
TXW can probably get away with it whereas it would have been quite grating with other actresses? I recall some…
I couldn’t finish New Life begins for this very reason. Those annoying ditzy female characters annoys the crap out of me. But the script for this drama I’m able to look past it because I do think this is an incredible drama all around and the whole cast is doing a great job.
I agree! I’m getting annoyed that her character comes across as uncouth and ignorant, just like her master called…
But my friend it’s a valid observation from viewers. We won’t all have the same opinion. I understand your point of view as I did take all of that into consideration before I gave my opinion and it still stands. Looking forward to her character growth though!

That’s what I’m trying to understand but I guess we will see in the next episode what would possess her to take a political prisoner of war to go trade for food.
I'll say it again - it's one thing to make her humble and naive. It's another thing to make her a simple country…
I agree! I’m getting annoyed that her character comes across as uncouth and ignorant, just like her master called her a few episodes back. Because of that ignorance, she and her little pig gang are about to trade the prisoner’s brother for food in the next episode… during a time of war. But I guess that’s the character’s flaw. I’m still enjoying the drama, but I couldn’t help noticing this flaw from the very beginning.
Okay, so I was at the nail salon getting my nails done, watching this drama… fighting back tears at the scene of little Changning and Boer seeing each other for the first time in 2 months.
Little Changning is an incredible actress. I love when child actors leave a lasting impression on me. To this day I still adore little A’li from Eternal Love and Han Pu from Who Rules the World, those two kids completely owned their roles.
I’ve seen a few dramas since then with Han Pu, and I just know he’s going to grow into an excellent actor.
But with that being said… I’m going to have to drop this drama for now. I’ll come back when they’ve aired at least 35 episodes because I simply don’t have the patience or the emotional bandwidth to have my feelings played with every day. I just can’t do it anymore! I need all the episodes now.
I already envy the people behind us who get to binge this from start to finish in like 3 days. 😂🥴
First 7 episodes were excellent and I hope they keep it up. I need all 40 episodes by tomorrow 😩. I may have to stop watching for a few days to binge because 2 a day is not cutting it for me lol.
Her character is a mess. I don’t think it’s a bad storyline but the writer could have done a better job developing…
Aww, I’m sorry to hear that you dropped it—I totally understand. But I actually really enjoyed it! I love Liu Yuning as an actor, so I was excited to see him in another lead role. He’s incredibly talented, and his voice? Amazing. The man can sing! I especially appreciated watching his character’s growth—from being consumed by vengeance and hatred to eventually forgiveness and opening his heart to the daughter of his enemy.
To be fair, she was innocent in all of it. It was the generation before her that harmed his family. She was thrown into a chaotic situation, and I think her character handled it the best she could under those circumstances. At the end of the day, that was still her family—a family who loved, spoiled, and protected her—so it made sense that she’d want to protect them and her people as well.
I also think she did a great job understanding his trauma—the pain and loss he carried for so long.
I truly commend the male lead for being able to let go of all that hurt and hate. Realistically, most people wouldn’t be able to do that. I gave his character a lot of grace because the amount of pain and trauma he had to work through was heavy. I even tried to understand his less-than-kind actions toward her in the beginning—they were both guarded and didn’t trust each other at first.
But overall, it was a good watch for me. I loved seeing a strong male and female lead who grew to love each other despite everything. That kind of dynamic is honestly rare in C-drama land, so I really enjoyed it.
