How is JM different / similar to the novel? I’m curious 😊
JM can’t drive and got her license very late. She wasn’t interested in cars or racing at all. She has no combat skills and, in the novel, she is much more reserved she thinks more than she acts. Very naïve and raised in a sheltered environment by her mother, she takes some time to adjust to her new, much poorer surroundings. She didn’t interact much with people outside of JZ’s group and didn’t have any real friends; her friendships were not truly developed. However, the drama introduced many positive changes.
When I think that just a few months ago, some fans wouldn’t stop harassing the staff, the management, the directors, and the male actors while spreading nasty rumors. They even claimed that Esther wasn’t properly dressed, when it’s obvious that her stylist did an excellent job. They banded together to harass He Yu, other actors, as well as the screenwriter and the directors, all based on unverified rumors and pure speculation. In the end, it turned out to be nothing but blatant lies. I’m happy to see that He Yu proved the haters wrong 😌. I’m also very satisfied with how sublime the drama’s production is, and with how Jiang Mu’s character stays faithful to the novel while benefiting from meaningful improvements, including new abilities that make the character even more compelling. Congratulations to the entire team and the cast. I hope some people now regret the harassment and the gratuitous insults they inflicted.
Can u explain? He already looks red flag from the trailer. If the story is so dark i will skip
He did indeed rape her after hitting her; she was lethargic and unable to do anything, yet he still forced himself on her. At times, when she tried to resist, he continued despite her pain and reluctance it was pure rape. Thankfully, the story was changed, because Lin Jin Lou, lecherous, violent, and immoral, was a completely bloodstained black flag. The heroine clearly ended up suffering from Lima Syndrome.
I read the novel, and I liked it. Yes, there's some disturbing content, but I could by pass it. I initially had…
I had the same apprehensions as you, but the trailer pleasantly surprised me. The novel, on the other hand, wasn’t good at all the male lead was a lost cause with no morality, and the female lead was a woman who endured too many injustices without ever fighting back. The story had no real stakes, other than subjecting the heroine to the male protagonist, a lustful man obsessed with beauty.
The budget used for the drama is exceptional, and the story has been completely reworked. The characters have been refined, given more depth and substance. I’m so happy that the screenwriter chose to deviate from the original material.
I absolutely love Seven Tan and Liu Xueyi, and I sincerely wish them all the best!
Top 10 hottest chinese actors 💖💖💖https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNdcEb5yE/
This top 10 isn’t good: where are Xu Kai, Ding Yuxi, Liu Xueyi, Xiao Zhan, Zhang Linghe, Yang Yang, Xiao Zhan, Ao Ruipeng, Chen Xinhai, and Wang Anyu? There are so many sexy actors in China a top ten isn’t enough to include them all.
I just finished it, and what can I say? I’ll definitely watch it again. 2025 is truly a blessed year for C-dramas so many amazing ones, and this one is an absolute masterpiece! Congratulations to the entire team for this exceptional work 👏👏👏👏.
The funny moments are so well placed in this drama. The scene where he tried to knock out the female guard and then begged for his life had me laughing so hard.🤣🤣😂
Maybe I’m just too used to seeing the characters closest to the protagonists turn out to be the worst traitors, but I have a bad feeling about Im Song Jae
Yes for sexy and Vulnerable Big no for EVIL, Hedoesn't look evil, he is acting like a kid in ep1
I’m sorry, but chasing her down and shooting at her with the intent to kill was definitely not child’s play. His curiosity about Yeon Ji Yeong’s origins, combined with her cooking skills, ended up saving this poor girl’s life. He has a very obsessive and hot-tempered side he can kill easily depending on his mood. Yeon Ji Yeong is there to change his story and calm his impulsive decisions and behavior. But it’s obvious that he has done countless terrible things and, according to the (future) storyline, he was manipulated into committing many atrocities. Thanks to Yeon Ji Yeong, his reign will take a new turn, possibly with positive twists. Lee Chae Min perfectly embodies this obsessive king, tortured by a painful past and dangerously sexy, capable of the worst as well as the best.
ML, with his superhuman abilities, saved FL. This is the first drama I’ve watched where the ML, as a General, got miserably defeated in the very first episode and where the FL ended up trapped several times in just two episodes 😂. The universe is quite complex, FL cannot predict the moves of her enemies nor even those of her close ones, which constantly puts her in dangerous situations (it’s rather realistic but exploited too quickly). As for ML, he couldn’t predict the events that led him to his current situation. Without Jin An’s abilities, both he and Li Shuang would have already lost their lives. Not up to my expectations, but this beginning hooked me more than Cheng Lei’s previous drama.
Ever Night is one of my favorite Xianxia, one of the rare dramas that I have watched several times. Arthur Chen’s acting is really very good, so I always try his dramas. This one had sparked my curiosity even more, especially since Wang Ying Lu, my baby Feng Bao Bao, is the main female lead. I had expectations, and how to say… this drama so far is simply amazing. I didn’t expect to feel anxiety so quickly.
We shouldn't judge based off trailer when episodes come out then judge
Are you serious? 🤦♀️ I’d suggest not replying to other people’s comments if all you want is to impose your own opinion. Oh, thank you so much for ‘ENLIGHTENING’ me, because I actually thought trailers were meant to give the audience a certain preview of the overall atmosphere. The tone, the music, the scenes, and the editing clearly convey a more comical vibe but of course, everyone is free to interpret it as they wish.
Why rush to show sarcasm when everyone is free to have their own expectations? Especially since there are plenty of idol dramas with storylines that are mostly serious and mature My Journey to You, Legend of Shenli, Lighter and Princess, and many others. They’re considered idol dramas, yet the plots remain serious and mature, with only a few lighter moments.
And by the way, what you call ‘idol dramas’ isn’t even a real genre it’s more of a visual aesthetic combined with the very devoted male lead whose only ambition is to revolve around the female lead. Many idol dramas do focus on love and feature young, attractive actors in stunning costumes and sets (which isn’t the problem). The problem is that very often, production reduces them to mere visuals, prioritizing appearances and the leads’ chemistry over solid storytelling and coherent plots.
Not all idol dramas are bad (who doesn’t enjoy beautiful visuals?). Some are genuinely good it all depends on how they’re presented and how the plot is balanced. I’m not expecting something like Ever Night here. I’ve already made it clear what I’m looking for in this drama, and it’s absolutely achievable.

I haven’t even given my opinion yet I’m waiting for the broadcast to form my own view of the drama, and for now I’m simply making a remark. Some trailers can be misleading, selling us a serious and mature drama only for it to turn out to be a light comedy full of clichés. I’m expressing my concern about this new trailer because the first one had a more serious atmosphere and sold me on the idea of a rather serious drama, whereas this new trailer feels almost comical.

So thanks for your advice, but you can keep it😒
