I like serious and coherent stories, without necessarily having to constantly remind myself to accept illogical or inconsistent things because it's fiction. Watching a drama is above all being able to find the events humanly logical and the story coherent in order to be able to appreciate and feel the emotions it conveys. The fact that I don't necessarily feel her intelligence and determination because of the too light and teasing side of her character leaves me perplexed. The context of her revenge would have deserved a more serious setting, a less (amusing) romance, something more subtle and dark between the protagonists. They are two generals known for being effective and brilliant. A more mature and serious interaction would have given a lot of charm to the story. Fl's look does not make her believable despite the fact that she matches the description of her new body in the novel. I hoped the drama would improve on this point. Liu Yifei's overall appearance was really well done in Mulan: her round and broad face easily lost its feminine delicacy, her unadorned tanned complexion and her haggard expression were totally believable to convince us that she was a young man in his late teens who had recently joined the army. This drama makes absolutely no attempt to give us a minimum of realism, it just offers us beautiful visuals and good chemistry between the main characters. Because of the context of the story, I don't appreciate Fl's personality, but I also like light personalities like Bai Feng Xi; after all, it's a matter of taste. I'll try until the twelfth episode; if I still don't like it, I give up. I'm here for Cheng Lei, but maybe I should wait for his other projects.

the essence and nature of the novel itself was changed. it wouldn't have really mattered if the novel was simply a sort of inspiration for the drama if everything was well coordinated but I feel that it's a bit sloppy and rushed, it's rare that adaptations live up to the novels these days. The double had huge changes even the ending but the story was really coherent and well paced the budget the costumes and the actors were all of high caliber which gave life to a visual and script performance that was simply incredible. This drama doesn't have a high caliber budget and the script isn't really well put together maybe it will improve later 🤷‍♀️. What this drama has to offer are the visuals of the actors and the chemistry between the leads, because frankly the story of revenge against her husband was interesting it was one of the strong points of the story because what he did to her and made her feel during their marriage despite so much effort was simply infuriating and horrible, it was the real fire that made her move forward for me the loss of the baby and her hatred against this man. The revenge against the members of her family was not really interesting because she was not really close to them it was mainly a quest to strip them of what was rightfully hers after their betrayal. the novel was not bad for me a good journey through her battles and her relationship with Ml but it was nothing more.

Where did my wedding, filled with laughter and family warmth, go in the city where they met? Where did my baby Jiang Chunlu go?
