Another good revenge story. I was able to finish this without any problems. First of all let me just say the actress who played Hanyan’s mother was absolutely phenomenal. At first I hated her because of how cruel she was being to our girl, but then, I think it was at the end of the first episode that my opinion on her changed with just one look. She appeared to be a bit teary eyed amidst all that meanness and I immediately knew there was more to her. She gave us everything honey, from her mad laugh to her stubbornness, to her fearless confrontation of her husband and to the moment she finally warmed up to Hanyan. I felt every. single. emotion. I love the mother daughter dynamics in this drama especially the parallels between the relationship between Hanyan and her mom and the one between Hanyan and the little girl. Seriously Lingzhi is so adorable🥰🥰 I literally couldn’t handle all that cuteness. This little actress has some solid acting skills too. Also loved the themes of women seeking freedom in various ways. I thought it fit naturally into the story. And ofcourse I loved our female lead. Her and Fu Yunxi matched each other’s energy, they were a seriously good looking couple. However, and I hate to say this, i wanted the ML to be a little bit more expressive. I get that he was written to be this cold, stoic and unrelenting character but gosh I felt like there were moments where I needed a little emotion fromhim. Other than that, great show man. I would totally recommend it.
When I started watching this I was immediately hooked but like with most dramas, after a while that excitement slowly started to fade. I really liked the main couple but I think they got together a little early and the plot outside of the romance wasn’t intriguing enough for me. Also I have never seen anyone who is allergic to accountability like Min Chu was, oh my goodness she was annoying. I really enjoyed the 3 romantic pairings in this though especially Yun Yi and Shu Jing Ran. Maybe it’s because I adore both actors, especially Ke Ying, so I’m kinda biased. I’m glad they got quite a lot of airtime in that final episode. I was really hoping we were going to see them after the 6 year time skip. Did they get married? Do they have kids? I sure hope so. But other than that I had to skip a lot of parts in the last 10 episodes. It just didn’t feel like there was something to look forward to you know. I just didn’t care for the main couple in the end
I like how there are so many actors from the Double here. it was weird seeing certain characters that had beef in the double be cool with each other here (I know that’s how acting works guys, it was just peculiar to me😅)I’m not gonna lie I struggled with a majority of the arcs. The only arc that got my full attention was the Hao De and Shen Hui Zhao one. They were so incredibly cute together. I no longer associate this actor with Shen Yurong😅 he did such a good job. They had such a healthy relationship. I usually despise the amnesia trope because it acts as a catalyst for misunderstandings (another trope I despise) but I like how they did it here. The amnesia worked in our favor. I liked both Hao De and Shen Zhao as individuals. I like how Hao De matured throughout the course of the show. I loved how all the sisters and the mom always had each others backs. Their bond was so touching. I especially loved Hao De and Le Shan as a duo. I especially loved how Le Shan was there to support her sis during her arc. When she gave the aunt a haircut I was dying of laughter 😂😂😂😂 and then they were laughing about it in the carriage. she always stood on business. It was a feel good show. My advice is if you don’t enjoy an arc simply skip through it. IF I hadn’t done that, I don’t think I would have finished it. Ofcourse I still wanted to know what was going on so I loooked up some summaries on Reddit for the episodes I skipped and in the end I didn’t really feel like I missed anything.
It still pisses me off that they introduced an amnesia trope with 2 episodes remaining. I can’t believe how far that girl from the hospital got when trying to manipulate Joon Pyo. All of a sudden control freak mom was nowhere to be found
was really curious on what would happen when the ML finds out the truth so i stayed for that. skipped a lot tho.…
sometimes these dramas do too much with the misunderstandings. I absolutely hate that trope. they took it way too far in this drama. at some point I stopped enjoying the drama because everything was so frustrating
PURE SPOILER. Because I don’t want no one else to waste there time like I did. The ml and fl are married for…
omg thank you so much. I watched up to episode 19. I kept skipping ahead so much because everything was pissing me off so much: the misunderstandings could have been cleared up with simple explanations. the FL went to such ridiculous lengths to hide her identity. The chemistry was nice but it wasn’t enough to keep me watching. I was just a bit curious about how it ends so thanks again for the explanation. I don’t have to waste my time continuing this
Omg the misunderstandings in this pissed me off. Couldn’t finish it. I’m starting to think a lot of these mini dramas aren’t for me. Like it gets to a point. This was so stupid!
The skinship was great. if that’s what you’re looking for, you’ll be happy. But damn, a lot of the characters especially the FL annoyed me. I don’t really expect much from mini dramas but I think they could have done a better job. The FL decision making was so bad. How are you letting someone who is actively trying to harm you keep the knife you just stabbed them with???? The ending was so forced.
This was a solid mini drama. I quite enjoyed it. Zhao Jia Min always delivers with her performances. I was just annoyed by how linient they were when punishing Fufeng and the mom. Fufeng should have been arrested as soon as she stabbed that guy. She got away with so much. Why would the FL and ML keep her around? It was kinda stupid. I do like how both of her premonitions came true, the FL just didn’t understand what was actually going on and I like how they refused to look into the future of their baby.
Y‘all are gonna hate me but I didn’t like the second FL. I understand her backstory and I guess the implication is that she wasn’t completely selfish, she actually cared for Shanggue but even when they play back the moments they spent together I can’t feel that romantic connection. I feel like she always looked so cunning (and the actress did a good job of that) that there wasn’t any room for vulnerability. I do think there was chemistry between 2 second leads but if I could describe it, it would be more like a “dangerous attraction”. Loved Esther Yu’s action scenes. I do understand why people prefer the second couple though. I feel like they rushed things with the first couple. considering how they were willing to sacrifice so much for each other, I feel the audience needed more convincing as to why they had such a deep connection. also the ending was disappointing which sucks because the show had so much potential. I’m not opposed to open endings but this was a little too abrupt. I kept thinking there were more episodes I wasn’t privy to. also Ziyu’s sister being the sole comedic relief was a bit much. it just felt out of place sometimes especially when she would interact with other “serious” characters. this show has a strong start, stellar cast, I was so excited but it started dragging at some point. it took me way longer than I thought to complete this. I feel like Ryan Cheng was my big motivation to finish this. he is just absolutely incredible in this. I immediately wanted to watch his other stuff
