The mountain girl is cute. She is getting a lot of screen time tho for what I assumed was a throwaway character. Does she have a bigger story? Knows the FL father or something???

You'd have a point if the leads interacted at all. They don't. The trailers misrepresent the story so you can't be mad that people expect what they were shown. Like I said in another comment, this is a slice of life with drama - not an actual drama. If it was billed as a slice of life drama then most people would be fine with the pacing and developments b/c that's how those type of dramas operate.

This. Pacing is terrible. Halfway through and the leads don't even speak to each other.

Either reveals start happening in tonight's episode or I'm just gonna completely wait until the reveal happens and watch from there forward. It's only 28 episodes so breadcrumbing this the story makes no sense. And if they do that thing C-Dramas like to do and nothing happens 'till the last 4 episodes, then those are the episodes I'm going to watch.

So I realize this is more a slice of life drama than a typical drama. It explains why it feels like a bunch of filler content. The problem is it wasn't advertised like a slice of life drama so it just feels like nothing is happening while we all wait for the big reveal.

It's not even boredom it's just nothing is moving the story forward.

So the friend is up to no good. There is a preview/trailer for the show that shows the friend was up to no good and had some kind of deal with the mom.

I think she's really worried about her son and how he will feel...and trying to process her feelings for Feng Rui, as she's not quite sure of his role. It's a lot. But I mostly think she wants to act in a way that minimizes the damage to her son.

Yeah. The friend really irked me with that "advice" - who wouldn't want to know their mother. Neither of them were given a choice. How is he better off without her????

Alright this one is going on pause until the reveal happens at least between the main leads. It's only 28 episodes so if they drag this out past mid-season I'm gonna be annoyed.

What kind of friends do you have that don't show up for you when you need them?

By your logic no one should aspire to do anything great. Also FL isn't exactly living off of her parents.

Yeah. That was hilarious. Yan is better than me. I would not be marrying him when there are still clearly very obvious sparks (angry sparks but sparks nonetheless) between those two. lol

She does evil mom so well tho. lol

The young dancer's mom irked me. She was so dismissive of Ting's accomplishemnts and wanted it all boiled down to salary. And was all - people will forget you once you leave the stage. It never occurred to her that maybe her daughter didn't want an ordinary life. Maybe she wanted to be great even if it was just for 8-10 years. Sometimes parents mean well, but miss the overall big picture.
