Does anybody else think that...
Well explains how he went from being called "young master" in one scene and was essentially a slave/servant in another as a boy.

i am tempted to wait till all eps are out
Yeah. I think I'm going to do that and keep watching The Princess's Gambit in real time. Season 2 looks hella stressful and I'd just rather watch the whole thing through than have to wait for the episodes.

No there is the synopsis they submitted - they are separated b/c he sacrifices himself for the "greater good"…
The synopsis reads like it's for awhile - and considering some of the physical changes of the Flower Envoy in the trailer it looks like it's a really long time. The synopsis says "he comes back bloodied but alive" and they fight to restore the emperor to his throne.

From the trailer, it seems like the drama will end with the leads reuniting after a long time, exchanging a smile…

Fingers crossing for Viki to pick up S2 as well, Mango subs are horrible. Sooo excited to see our FangYang couple…
My Gawd the subs. Why in 2025 are subs still so bad.

Oh that season 2 trailer has me stressed. I was afraid they might go the route of the Flower Envoy losing his…
Oh okay. Just read the synopsis...we're dealing with coups and all kinds of palace intrigue - so should be good. I'm here for the villain ark of her ex-husband. I think he'll put prince Ning to shame.

Prince Jing (Mu Wuyin) and Prince Nan (Mu Wuxia).
Is that change confirmed? Also do they give a diff second love interest for the FL? I'm not gonna lie, if they made the CP the Chancellor's love rival, that would be mad fun. lol

I think she knows but both of them have trauma regarding love & marriage, so naturally they are trying to avoid…
Yeah. I wrote that before I finished the series. She clearly knows and she clearly feels the same. Things are just, complicated. lol

While i love bi zhi, I think he should grow a backbone. He can't always do what his wife tells him to do.
She didn't tell him about the request. Also he doesn't do what she says. She's been trying to leave since they got there. She didn't want him to be commander. He does try and indulge her small things tho.

My thoughts exactly. The villains (Su Er Huang, Su Xin, Liu Yan) and their advisors are poorly/inconsistently…
Exactly. She should have been the intellectual equal to QM - and agreed her brother wouldn't have ratted her out like that. That scene should have been her confessing to save her brother, but instead we turn him into a coward, it was just all off putting.

We were given bits and pieces of information of her life and experiences that shaped her the way she is now. We…
I'm clear on what they *tried* to do. But they didn't succeed. With one convo they humanized Liu Lan (father murderer) - they didn't do as good of just with Su Er Huang's characterization. They were too focused on making her a two-bit villian in my opinion.
