Comparing Song Yimeng with Jiang Xuening is not fair. Yimeng comes from modern world while Xuening only returns to some years before.
Xuening is the evil one in her past life. She's cunning, ruthless, selfish, you name it. Of course, she does better in every aspect than Yimeng when making decision. Moreover, she knows the people, traditions, and everything around her.
Yimeng has limited knowledge about the world she gets in. She only knows the script in FL's POV.
There are too many C-dramas end up with that trope. I have enough. The team can give us whatever kind of happy ending (I hope it's a happy ending). At least, not live in a rural area. No. 😫
