He was calm (after days of reflecting), trying to listen to her, but Ye Li made an unforgivable mistake in her confession. She knew her mother's playing to be a hero's consequences not only causing Mo Xiu Yao's family's downfall, but also the death of 30.000 soldiers (and probably more if their families followed the soldiers into afterlife). That's why she could not tell Mo Xiu Yao about the edict and waited for him to ask first.

Ye Li shouldn't have said she healed Mo Xiu Yao's legs and cleared all the victims's name to repay her mother's debt and compensate Mo Xiu Yao, because nothing, again, nothing could repay and compensate those ten of thousands lives. It was a huge number of casualties.

Ye Li didn't kill those soldiers, yes, but her arrogance in her confession showing she downplayed her mother's grave mistake. It hurt Mo Xiu Yao.

I know, right? I've watched many crime or investigation dramas. There's no way they release someone from the crime scene, even if she swear she's innocent.

Su Zui Die should be in prison after they got the whole story from all the witnesses. However, they released her even before Ye Li woke up. How could they know she was not Ye Li's minion, for example. She stayed in Prince Ding Mansion for days. They could be planning the murder together. 😁

It's okay. We're here to help each other understand the story. And you don't miss some scenes. Let's say, it's a plot hole, if they won't give any explanation about how Ye Li get the edict back.

I remember the scene when Ye Li presented the edict in the court raised many questions in this page, but we didn't really have the answer. It was impossible no one saw it under the cushion because the cushion would be moved and revealed the edict or fell to the floor when they carried her body from the crime scene to prison or anywhere.

Since that room was a crime scene the officers should have searched the whole place. Someone should have found it there. 🧐 So far, no explanation how Ye Li got it back, and how the edict survived the search.
