I might be alone in this, but both are liars and manipulatives. Xu Yan's backstory didn't make her holier than Hao Ming in lies and scheming area. No matter if she did it for love. No one forces Xu Yan to lie or hide her real family.

So, Hao Ming is not beyond redemption. He was right, though. Xu Yan should keep lying because the truth would ruin Shen's reputation, too.

The same exact thing happen in another drama, which I love so much it's the second best drama in my list after ADWAD, with the female lead. C-drama needs more female leads with beautiful brains.

In my opinion, Fang Lei is not a wife material for Hao Ming because she's a spoiled brat. She does everything she wants and refuses to listen to Hao Ming's advice (episode 12).

Meanwhile, Hao Ming needs a wife to be his company and partner in crime. Xu Yan is the perfect choice. She's smart and willing to work together. She listens to him.

She doesn't. But whenever she's on the screen, our blood pressure rises drastically. LOL.
