Very interesting.....must watch
So let me start with that I came to this drama with the only goal of watching Cheng Lie....that's it he was the plot for me.I am not a particular fan of Chinese drama from this time period, mostly because I am not very familiar with Chinese history and I end up feeling more confused and frustrated with how female roles are displayed. The introduction of some western luxurious things while complete absense of them in the areas that matter baffles me, annoys me and frustrates me. I just avoid such dramas, this is a me issue.
However as I said I came for Cheng Lie and I am glad I did. This drama, the first arc was captivated me from the first Ep. I finished it all in 2 days straight. Everyone acted superbly, all roles were gray and just so intriguing and involving that I might come back one day to it to actually watch the second and third arc. My dropping this drama has nothing to do with the story or content or acting. It's a gem and I highly recommend watching this one.
Job well done in execution!! Kudos to the team.

Disappointed with story
I like a strong female lead dramas personally but this one was not a strong FL, just an annoying teenager who thinks from her ego. At times i was so annoyed with her sense of righteousness that I rage quit the so many times. The little romantic scenes here and there had me picking it up again. But that's it.I am not usually looking for logic when watching Chinese dramas but common on. After L&P I had such high expectations. It started good. But one they flash backed into school, I just kept waiting for them to come back to present. Sadly I quit this drama altogether and went back to watching L&P just to recover from the disappointment. Maybe will pick this again in future or watch those synopsis videos on YouTube to rush watch it.

I tried but just could not
So it started good...had potential, poor intelligent boy with a chirpy happy go lucky go girl. Seemed like a safe enough story, but then it went all down.I really tried to overlook the almost stalker tendency of the FL who went so crazy for a boy she met one summer at the age of 4-5! That's kinda creepy...but i was still willing to give this a shot.
The story just is not as engaging, you feel pity, anger, frustration...all for the wrong reasons.
I dropped this drama, just could not make myself even fast forward watch this.
Maybe this story is for some people for me it did not work.
