Lu Yu Xiao is just so beautiful and such a great actress, I was waiting for her have such a role after My Journey…
I thought Echoes of the Self was a surprisingly good short drama. QY was such the good guy there with such a sweet expression on his face the entire time I didn’t think he had it in him to play the bad guy.
Good lord … watching the previews for episodes 31 and 32. Now Storm Alliance is joining the fray? The plot is pulled into so many directions it’s becoming too much.
Am i the only one who thinks Chen Heyi can't express well? His acting as XJS is just so-so imo.
I saw him in another drama where he played a pretty vicious character. He was excellent in that role. I think he’s quiet as an actor and in this particular movie he just doesn’t have a lot of lines so it’s hard for him to work with that. That being said, he is a bit wooden in this drama, I agree.
I love the two leads and they are both great actors. However I feel like they are more strategists united together around a common goal than lovers. I’ve seen LQ in other roles and she had a lot more chemistry with her male leads (SNTL for example). It might just be me but I’m not seeing the sparks.
I agree but I don’t want to meet such a toxic person - I think better to run run run in the opposite direction.
Yes I agree — this drama is so full of anguish. What’s more interesting is that seemingly ‘sacred’ social and familial contracts in Chinese dramas (such as filial pity; father / son bond etc) seems to be thrown out the window. Nothing seems sacred. Except perhaps the devoted love between the leads.
Watched through episode 25. The stress of this drama is off the charts! The loaded conversation between the emperor and FSG in episode 24 seems to make no sense. Was the father just egging him on to toughen him up to continue to fight against his enemies? Seems so out of character. Also doesn’t this remove the goal for FSG to fight; if not for the throne or to protect his father than what is left? Or I guess he still has to take revenge for his mother’s death. Seems that there is a bigger theme at play here or the plot is just starting to fray.
