I don't really think it suits her character's backstory to forgive them. it suits her as a person and as the person she has grown into... but it doesn't feel right considering that is what brought her to this stage. And even her parents were never remorseful of their actions
I wanted to make a comment about ZLS's styling. Now, I don't know the order of filming and whether some of this might be related to her personal issues, but the more I watch the more I see a clear divide between her styling when starting to pursue SHM, after being married to him and then now, when she is trying to break free and prove herself.
In the beginning, her outfits and makeup seem over the top, girlish and ultra-feminine. She really stands out among other characters, but in a cringe, trying too hard way. When she is accepted by his family and marries in, her styling changes. She looks more mature, outfits have an asymmetrical style, her hair is usually up, and her makeup is... very prominent and does not suit her (my opinion). Many people commented that 'it doesn't look like her' and I think that's the point. This is her 'mask' or 'costume' that she uses to prove that she belongs in SHM'S world.
And again, now that she has left SHM and is living for herself, her style has changed. She often has her hair down, or loose or in a 'messy' updo. Her makeup is more natural, we see more loose, comfy clothing. She even tells SHM that she is happier living for herself and wants to find happiness in herself from now on. And I think this truly reflects that she is being more authentic in the recent episodes.
Today's episodes was fun and hilarious to watch! Our leads somewhat confess their true thoughts in ep 20. SHM…
I think he is going through a bit of a grief cycle - initially, when XY confronts him about Chen, he goes on attack mode and aggressively throws her lies in her face to defend himself. He uses their mutual lies as an attack. Later, she settles down and decides she wants to reconcile and try again - but he chooses to play cold-hearted, saying that he won't believe her. So, when she stands down, steps out of his life, out of his influence - he goes into denial that there is no way she could have been truthful about her feelings. Again, he lashes out, bargaining - offer to support her work, give her alimony, offer to invest in her business - prove that she is just using him and doesn't have feelings for him. And now, he is in close quarters with her again and there is a form of horror/recognition/unveiling that XY was truly invested in their relationship, was attuned to his likes/dislikes and that they have a natural chemistry which makes them comfortable together... Whether we will see him reeling from the loss of their relationship or trying to pick up the pieces before all hope is lost... I sort of want to see him in the loss phase. To truly understand how badly he screwed up. But also to give them a fresh start together.
I hate women like her srsly women who don't value themselves and are ready to degrade to the lowest level just…
At first I read this and thought - egotistical maniac who thinks he can judge women... then I realized it was about Fang Lei and went - 'it's a justified comment' XD
'Your mom wants you to be a bank manager. I am not a bank. Why are you here?' This might be the only time I enjoyed seeing the second leads on screen - I like YY being shy about his crush on her, and QL being her direct self!
Please suggest me another modern drama like this to watch. I'm about to die waiting for the next episode, I need…
Only for Love - Bai Lu and Dylan. It takes a while to get into it but then it is great, their chemistry is great, their relationship is goals... I love them
Haven't been able to watch today's eps just yet starting now, but this car argument scene below is hilarious.…
my goodness, that transcipt is hilarious! The fact that they insult each other about the things that they do for them, those were definitely things that touched them the most XD
Guys did you watch teaser of episode 22π₯ I want to watch ep 22 right nowππ
Okay, just watched all the new teasers! I LOVE seeing XY stand up to SHM and be her bad ass b*tch self. Show him your true character girly! You are strong and don't need no man who thinks you need his backing to be successful. Loved it!
His previous persona was fake, just a charade to keep everything running smoothly according to plan. Now, he's…
agreed, but I also think he is forcing himself to see her as a 'bad guy'. He wants to stick to his narrative that she is using him and that they play off each other - he tells his father that their relationship was genuine, they gave what they got in their lies - but XY walking away is exposing her sincerity and that reflects through her relationships with the people around her. And all of that leaves SHM as the real 'bad guy' because he took advantage of her genuine feelings. He needs to force the hate, or he will cave to the realizations...
So we are now half of episodes for the ending, but i see that the second couple has no real screentime. I know…
I'm okay not seeing anything about the second couple... I like seeing QL supporting XY and them acting like sisters for once... but I can't take that guy seriously so I don't really care about the second leads π
Honestly I don't understand why he didn't get a contract wife for his needs. He never wanted a genuine relationship…
agreed - and I think a part of him admires her ability to prove herself capable and able to handle the pressure and curveball. That's why he can't admit that he is falling for her - she is his equal.
