Unfortunately, a bit, yes. I am more of a "process leading to ending" guy, as endings can be very disappointing, so I didn't mind much unfinished business with the final villain. Still, it's a highly rated and extremely popular drama when it debuted, getting rated at Douban is a perfect example of it. For comparison, my favourite Lu Songli's adventures aren't rated there (they aren't finished either, as the original novel is insanely long).
So, how does it work - supposedly it's highly FL-centric drama (at least based on how Novel was) - I understand both leads on the poster, as it's typical, but also it's the ML who is listed as the 1st one in the cast.
the producer/writer must be happy because their drama becomes a hot discussion, even as a bad one mixed with cursing.
Yes, I'm sure he is partying for making history with a 3.0 Douban rating. More like drinking alone in a dark basement, while hiding from the pissed-off investors.
And the irony is one poster laffed at PA rating of 5.3 on Douban saying it was pathetic . Loool
I didn't know that PA scored so low at Douban, expected 6+. 5.3 is the same as "Romance of the female soldier", and I have no doubt that PA is a better show, despite various shortcomings and the messed-up ending.
Title:"Mother-in-law and daughter-in-law join forces to empty the Marquis's mansion" | 婆媳联手,侯府搬空FL…
This one is really, really good and creative (at least for me), even if highly misandrist. I guess, many female viewers will have the latter as a positive ;).
Just another typical, run-of-the-mill show featuring a supposedly badass/strong Female Lead, who is strong at the beginning (but ML is quickly established as someone much stronger...), but later, as the number of her love interests increases, the dumber and more useless she becomes, so ML candidates can save her over and over and over again to push Romance forward.
I'm a sucker for well made action scenes in a historical/costume drama. Can anyone recommend similar dramas, please?
@sojushot I never know what exactly qualifies for specific genres, but maybe you can try: - Song of Glory (great looking fights, badass FL, so-so ML) - Journey To Lowe (great fighting scenes and there are more of them compared to SoG, in general badass FL, but sometimes mixed with "Damsel in distress", when in reality she should be more badasser, super-hipper-strong ML, who should be downgraded, as the drama was supposed to be about FL mostly) - Who rules the World (again, great fighting, badass FL and even more badasser ML, but it didn't bother me as much as in JTL) - Veil of Vengeance (baddest FL ever, weakest ML ever, fights look great, shortest series among all four)
I dropped this the second I looked up the lead actress's age. How do these writers and directors expect the audience…
I can understand your point, and I don't have a problem with people who dislike an age gaps, but come on - 18-year-old is not a child. No reason to go overboard.
It's not a sequel of PA, in Rebirth there are no competing spy agencies, FL's mom was not murdered, did not train…
@LidiaC I call it - "how did she survive in the world before meeting the ML?" Pretty much, I ask this question whenever watching a drama with a supposedly badass/strong female lead.
the novel of legend of the female general was good but sadly the drama adaptation wasn't satisfying .Many international…
I didn't read the novel, but the trailer was highly promising about the female general's story. Instead, we mostly got a romance of a female soldier. I finished it, but on heavy FF and without much connection to the story. It wasn't really bad, just not as good as I hoped for.
Reading comments made me think that not getting invested in "Rebirth" (I found the trailer to be awful) was probably my best drama-related decision since not watching the 5th and final season of "Chuck" years ago...
I just wish "Legend of the Female General" would also have an awful trailer, but instead, it looked so damm promising. Ugh...

C-drama writers will never change.
Not enough votes or what?
Thankully I am too slow to spot it :).
I had no idea it happened here, actually.
