I have a question before starting if anyone can help. I like strong and intelligent FL’s but I disliked ‘The…
The ML in PoJ is one of the strongest Marty Sues you can find around, pretty much perfect in everything. Except, of course, as all MLs/FLs are, in mysteriously missing a right moment to share their real identity. It's so dumb that no matter how good a strategist someone is, there has not been a lead (male or female) to pick the right moment for it.
just finished watching this drama. It is one of the best cdrama released in 2026 . Yet they are things I found…
It's always interesting how people's opinions differ - PoJ was easily watchable through the first 19-20 episodes, but PoB only through the initial 11-12, before the writers downgraded the female lead from a powerful strategist to run-of-the-mill clan mistress, allowing the villains dance around her.
They both have one thing in common - the final episodes are equally weak in both of them.
I have never watched a C drama, I was always into K drama or J drama. Do I start with this as my first C drama?…
You could choose way worse than "PoJ" as your 1st C-Drama. It's nothing groundbreaking, but it's a nice story (especially the village part), with super likeable main characters.
你装纨绔,我装瞎,看谁能演 (Zhi Chun He) - decent Female-centric drama with ZCH playing another capable FL in her repertoire and having some good moments, when she was able to talk her way out of trouble. Unfortunately, in a typical way, it got half-ruined by a stalker-ish, overbearing ML (6th Prince), who invades her residence (and personal space) way too many times - after around the 10th time, it really got boring. Some funny moments, especially with the transmigrating Emperor. Also, it has some unique camera work, and sometimes I had a feeling I was watching a documentary.
It already picked up a few times (for example, there was a lot of tension around Nihuang selecting a husband),…
And no, NiF doesn't pick up from Episode 20, as there were many amazing moments happening before as well, including the chain of events I mentioned in the previous post. Maybe it's not just for you.

Aaaaah, ok :)
It was tongue in cheek, obviously, but after watching "Swords Snow Stride" (mostly because of the Woman in White, unfortunately, in a very limited role), I just felt I had had enough of the ML actor playing a very similar role.

There was a big tournament to select her husband, which led to a big fight between the kids and the barbarian, which led to an attempt to rape her, which led to an amazing confrontation hosted by the Emperor.
Are you really watching Nirvana in Fire 1? Maybe you accidentally started a Part 2? :)
So far I've seen 12 eps of NiF. For context Joy of Life is my all time fav drama and this has always been recommended.…
It already picked up a few times (for example, there was a lot of tension around Nihuang selecting a husband), maybe it's just not the right drama for you. I watched a one-scene of JoL when the ML tried to talk someone to death, and knew it's not for me.
I'm trying to decide between story of yanxi palace or empresses in the palace...
If, in the end, you plan to watch both, start with Empresses due to chronology - the female lead in Empresses is the Empress Dowager in Yanxi, and her son in the Empresses is the Emperor in Yanxi.
However, both are totally different types of shows - Empresses is a fascinating, but heavy and serious Palace drama, while Yanxi is a more entertaining Idol version of this genre, although extremely well done.
Both are absolutely top level in their respective categories.
Except, of course, as all MLs/FLs are, in mysteriously missing a right moment to share their real identity.

Douban? Then, I would agree.

Maybe there are more, but I was too lazy to look.
ML: Sun Zi Hang | 孙子航
FL: Chen Lu Xi | 陈露茜
This one was surprisingly decent.

Maybe one day it will be converted into a big production drama. But for now, only Parts 1 & 2 microdramas were produced.
