Me too! Idk if you watched it yet but I highly recommend Born to be alive! The found family trope and their devotion still gets me overwhelmed. And the fact that it's based on true stories completely shattered me 🙃

So far it has some found family trope and a close community which brings some heartwarming and bittersweet moments

Genuine question : how do you know if it's considered an idol drama or not ? Like does it have to be a wuxia or xianxia to be considered an idol drama ?
And in terms of youth dramas , would The first frost/Reborn be one compared to 12 letters for example ?

I think there will be some but it won't be part of the main plot just like other youth dramas

I couldn't agree more!! So far the trailer, the cast, the promo and the setting are 100% what I was imagining while reading the novel. The choice for the main leads is perfect. So far I'm not a big fan of Bao Shangen's dramas but I couldn't imagine someone else playing Cai Zhao. She matches perfectly! Zhou Yiran I had no doubts since he was amazing in 12 letters!
I hope I won't be disappointed since I'm a little too excited for it 😅

If you don't know Zhou Yiran's work I highly recommend "12 letters" !! It's a masterpiece and it's only 12 episodes. It might help waiting for this one 😅

So true! I would have preferred this kind of ending cause realistically the whole coal mining trope can't really be resolved. So ending with some scenes of our modern times would have been a perfect way to question our choices in society while leaving us with a bittersweet ending. Watching the 14 episodes left I can't really process the fact that the Mountain Patrol and Duojie aren't here anymore. Also I don't understand why we didn't see more of Tashi and his mother after Duojie's disappearance.

I feel like it may be linked to the coal mining situation. Bai Ju's elder brother seems to protect a little too much those higher up entrepreneurs while Yunfei still fights for the environment. I didn't really like the way the elder brother tried to tell to his sister to have a word with Yunfei about his last report. Since maybe Bai Ju seems to have settle in her own safe zone she might got tired of trying to side between them. That's my lil theory 😅 I hope the divorce was still over something like this cause they seem to still have feelings for each other

I didn't expect the Mountain Patrol era to end so early. We still have 14 episodes left but without the og team it feels too different. Now I just feel like I'm watching a documentary of what's happening outside my door 😭 I hope we will still get back some of that freedom and charm from the past episodes
