I still can’t understand why some people choose to mock or slander him. From everything I’ve seen, he seems like a genuinely kind and humble person who would never intentionally harm anyone.
I hope Sword and Beloved will be a success. I’m loving it so far! I’m a new Cheng Yi fan here and also new to the C-drama world. I used to watch mostly rom-coms, which makes it a bit hard for me to get into Cheng Yi’s dramas since he’s more into heavy and melancholic genres. But even so, I still managed to watch all of them, lol.
It was Zhao Lusi who first brought me into the C-drama world, but Cheng Yi is the one who made me stay. I discovered Cheng Yi last May or June (I forgot exactly when) this year from a behind-the-scenes clip of The Journey of Legend. Since it hadn’t aired yet, I watched MLC, which made me subscribe to iQIYI. Then I started binge-watching all of his dramas,and now I even have subscriptions to Youku and Mango TV, lol.
I’ve also watched all of his variety shows, and I even have a playlist of his songs.
I love seeing all the positive feedback here! As someone who came from light-hearted dramas, Sword and Beloved is by far the best heavy drama I’ve watched so far. Cheng Yi’s execution in the fight scenes was absolutely phenomenal, and honestly, every actor in this drama delivered such powerful performances. I even found myself genuinely hating Fugui’s father! If only my hands could reach through the screen, I would’ve dealt with his father and uncle myself! lol
