I used to be such a rom-com lover and always wanted a happy ending in every drama. But ever since I became a fan of Cheng Yi, my taste in dramas has totally changed lol.
SAB was fine with me, I actually liked the ending. It felt satisfying enough. I’m also happy that he succeeded in ending Black Fox and that all the living beings are now enjoying the life they deserve. Even my fiancé enjoyed it and said the ending was unpredictable for a “romance” tagged drama lol (he also has a weird taste in dramas).
I agree that there were some unnecessary arcs and the writing in the second half wasn’t that great, but honestly, I still have love for this drama. Cheng Yi really pulled it off again. His dark hair and white hair dual look was perfect, and those tiny micro-expressions he does made it so believable that they were completely different characters. That’s what I love about his acting — the details.
Aside from Fugui, who will always be my top favorite, I also really liked Tingyun. She was so consistent, loyal, and her sword-fighting scenes were amazing.
Love and Redemption will always be my favorite Cheng Yi “romance” drama, and this one will probably be my least favorite among his works. But still, I’ll give it a good review because the whole cast did such a great job. I just don’t think it’s something I’d rewatch.
The demonic white-haired Fugui is so cute! For the third time, I can’t get enough of this black-haired vs. white-haired Cheng Yi duel.
He portrays each character so distinctively, just like in Immortal Samsara and The Journey of Legend. Honestly, I sometimes forget it’s the same actor.
I’m currently on episode 16, and the plot just keeps getting better! I’m so curious to find out who the spies are, haha. I also feel bad for Milan — I really hope she ends up switching sides.
I love how smart and cunning the leads are. This show is definitely a must-watch!
Yes it is so obvious, the scriptwriter work for the production company, they are only employee. The one who is…
I’m honestly confused about why these companies are targeting Cheng Yi. What did he even do to them? I haven’t seen anything that says he’s hard to work with or treats people badly. In fact, he seems super dedicated and works really hard for his roles.
I get it if some viewers don’t like him , that could just be fan wars or personal preferences, but for a company to actually sabotage a drama just to go after him? That feels like way too much. I can’t imagine how tough that must be for him.
Does his management even do anything to protect or defend him? It’s just really sad to think he might be getting treated like this.
I’m currently on episode 11, and this show is honestly such a good piece of work. At first, I thought it wasn’t for me — I even felt a bit dumb because I found it hard to follow the story. But after episode 4, everything started to make sense, and I got completely hooked. Now that the nurse’s real identity has been revealed, I’m dying to know who the mole in NBIS is. Hongshen’s brother is also getting better, which makes things even more interesting. Overall, I’m really enjoying it!
I just feel a little sad that I didn’t give this show my full attention the first time I watched it. I actually got to around episode 20 before, but now that I’ve started over from episode 1, I’m appreciating it so much more.
Move your eyes from the screen for a second and you’ll lose track of the plot. 😫 But it was good! I actually…
I know, right? I feel like I’m too dumb for this drama sometimes, I have to replay scenes a lot just to understand what’s going on lol. I’m on episode 9 now, and I’m loving it so far!
I’m not sure if this will help, but it works for me. I’ve lowered my expectations when it comes to the romance in this drama and instead focus on Fugui’s journey to defeat the black fox. Seeing it that way helps me stay excited for each new episode, regardless of how much screen time Fugui gets or how his romantic storyline develops. Honestly, I don’t even care about his romantic ending anymore, I just want him to take down Qing Cheng, Jing Ting, and Madam Black Fox.
can anyone helped me with the series order? i just started this drama and realize this has some continuation and…
All three dramas are standalone. I haven’t watched the other two yet, but I was able to follow the storyline of Sword and Beloved. There are also flashbacks from Love in Pavilion that provide some important background.
While I can understand some viewers missing Cheng Yi in the last episodes (me too) I still enjoy watching 2 episodes…
I love this! 😍 Thank you for putting this into words! I’m one of those viewers who’s perfectly fine with this separation arc. As long as the long separation isn’t driven by a misunderstanding between the leads, I’m still fully on board. The fact that Qing Tong and Fugui continue to think of each other adds emotional depth to the story.
The comedic filler is also a clever touch, it keeps the arc fun and enjoyable.
I feel like I'm almost asking questions in these comments lmao. But i have to ask the community here is always…

I also hope QC kills Jing Ting, so Fugui won’t have to and won’t feel guilty toward Rumu.
