Qingtong didn’t leave by his side, she see through his plan and willingly to sacrifice herself to him so that he can extract the tree seed (need it to kill the black fox) from her. After QT’s sacrifice, he put her in the joy and sorrow sect; after Fugui finished killing the black fox, he came back for her and give her the remaining life force then left the joy and sorrow sect together (it seem like Fugui reincarnated at the same time as Qingtong returning back to her spider form). Under the grief tree, Fugui is a butterfly while Qingtong is a spider. They are reunited at the end, their memories did not fade. I believe with cultivation, they will become human again and travel the world!
for their relationship, you can follow your heart on this. as for me, their CN dialogue really represents that they are lovers; especially Fugui dialogue at the end and Qingtong’s last words.

probably will later, for the review. I feel like their type of love is common in wuxia/xianxia. Sacrificing themselve for their duties and reuniting in heaven🥹 but this drama surely done a different ending if I were to compare with other xianxia/wuxia drama
ohh make sense, i’ll edit the comment then. I looked up Yixu’s work and noticed I watched multiple of his works in the past without actually knowing he was in charge. His works are very similar, always end with reincarnation 😭

for me, the ending for our leads is acceptable. It beautiful yet painful, their love is so strong that even after strong hardship, they manage to reunite at the end.

I can share something🤣 basically these leftover episodes are just full of sadness😭 Villain Fugui is *omg* 🥹🥰🩷 the ending is not that good, I wish they did a better one since this is the last thrilogy
