The gift which, unknowingly, keeps on giving!

Firstly, this is a love story spanning age, obstacles and standards set by some people. The story perfectly describes how “Li Wu” which may also mean gift became a special gift which unexpectedly became part of Cen Jin’s life. When she allowed him to be part of her life yes it was a mess but the little did she know that she had a gift placed into her life transforming it forever!

Ohh my Sniper butterfly, how can l even perfectly talk about you!? I first came across this drama months back while it was still upcoming, the poster caught my attention first before the synopsis had me hooked thought l thought twice on whether to watch it not as l had never been a fan of older woman younger man romances before. I clicked plan to watch and moved on with my life, come 28th November, l saw the official announcement of its release on 4th of December and l quickly took it as a final sign to watch it!

Once the first 4 episodes were released, l quickly hopped onto the ride which l do not regret embarking. Dear reader, if you are reading this wondering whether to watch Sniper butterfly or not, take this as a your final call to quickly watch the gem!!!!

I like how they made it clear that Li Wu’s love for Cen Jin was purely love not an entanglement of love and gratitude. Many a times, people may mistake gratitude for love or they may feel the need to love people they are indebted to but this drama made sure to show the clear line!

Though many people may have felt that the frequent flashbacks were unnecessary, l perceived that it was necessary for viewers to see how, why and when either of their feelings for each other grew and developed without getting facts mixed up! Ohh the innocence and cuteness Li Wu carried deserves to be applauded. Despite that, he still served some manliness, having that sense of responsibility as a boyfriend which made their love story admirable. How can l even fully describe the way that man felt whenever anything involved Cen Jin!?

Li Wu knew exactly what he wanted he definitely did not allow anything to stop him from standing by that regardless of age, people, distance or background!

Chun Chang & YI Yang’s story was a good one though the ups and downs were 🫠 considering how the main leads were already keeping us on our feet! However worry not, it’s just enough for you to turn a blind eye to or even enjoy as it’s not boring🤭

I like how the drama gave us a clear view of the type of woman Jin was which made it understandable for every step and decision she made! Despite their age gap being big, the drama managed to bring out a great love story without making Jin seem more of a mother than a girlfriend to Li Wu!

The drama had so many powerful characters! A father who always stood, loved and supported his daughter! He wasn’t the type of parent to try and force his beliefs on his child, but he sat down, let her talk, listened to her, let her express how she felt, gave honest advice yet leaving her with room to make her own final judgement and decision.

A friend like Cheng Rui!!🥹 I always knew he was THAT friend but when he said, “I told you we are friends, whatever happens, we handle it together. If the sky falls, l will hold it up even if l have to tiptoe.” my love and respect for him as Li Wu’s friend skyrocketed!!!

My girl Michelle had to wear wedged shoes most of the time to lessen the height difference! 😂🥹🤭 Despite their real life age gap, they still delivered the story in an amazing manner!

I did wish they gave us wedding but l will still gladly settle for the happy ending they gave us! It has its flaws but that won’t stop me from recommending anyone to watch it! Hope you enjoy it as much as l did!

Maybe just maybe after this l might consider going for a younger man now!😂😏 Dynamites do come in small packages after all!

An undisputed gem!

Ohh Speed and Love can words fully express how I felt about you and how you made me feel!?? Ohh silly me crying while writing this review!🥹😭

Having second thoughts about watching this drama?? Say no more, hope onto the train and watch this gem as soon as possible! Speed and Love caught my heart not only because of my love for Esther but the storyline, OST, cinematography, chemistry and all the other actors input left me without any other option but to deeply fall for it!

As someone who didn’t read the novel, watching this drama was like discovering a gold mine which other people had already started digging into but that didn’t mean I missed out on getting my fair share of enjoyment!

The storyline was one l found enjoyable and relatable. Throughout the drama, l stood by both Jiang Mu and Jin Zhao. They both had crosses to carry and for that they deserved grace rather than criticism. As you watch this drama, bear in mind that Jin Zhao is a man full of love yet he found himself entangled in a web of misfortunes. He was a man who grew up with little to no love yet he grew up to be a man full of love and that needs to be applauded. He always hoped to be a man who is responsible, one to provide for his loved ones and he never wanted to be a burden to anyone. It bruised his ego or should l say he felt as a failure if he couldn’t be a provider or shoulder to lean on towards his loved ones. The misfortunes he faced in his life left him bruised yet he tried to cover it all up while showing other people his brightest side without dimming their light! Despite the painful childhood he experienced, he chose to make it nurture him into a better man! He chose not to hold any bad intentions towards anyone🥹😭To better understand and enjoy the drama, try putting yourself in Jin Zhao’s shoes when things are being shown from his perceptive. He was a man who needed help so please cut him some slack! Honestly after seeing how Mumu’s mum treated him, l honestly don’t blame him for feeling torn and inadequate for the 6 years they were apart! He’s a responsible man who chose not to be rebellious but courteous throughout the drama! This drama is my first He Yu drama, l must say he delivered an award worthy performance from the beginning till the end. I am still in awe of how just his facial expressions without saying a single word could make me feel and understand the emotions he needed to convey!😭 That man has talent which deserves to be applauded.

Ohh my girl Jiang Mu! You are too innocent for this world!😭 Firstly, l would like to applaud the production team for showing us a total 180 degrees of her character development. We started off the show with a very innocent, unbothered, loving and cute girlie yet we ended with a mature, loving and subtle cute lady. One thing l appreciate is she didn’t lose her lovable traits regardless of how she felt torn during moments of separation. As you watch the drama, l hope you realise that she is a cute girlie but she was never naive! Throughout the drama, we were shown that she’s the lady who would get anything and everything done as long as she put her mind to it. Esther Yu was born to be Jiang Mu and I will continue to stand by that! The cuteness and bubbliness Jin Zhao expected to see in his long lost childhood friend is exactly what Esther gave us. The outfits and styling deserve a full review of their own because they were amazing throughout the show!

An important issue l have to address is that of the female lead constantly chasing the male lead. In all honesty, l feel like that’s where some of the beauty of the drama lies. Many people hoped the male lead would at some point, aggressively pursue her but that’s not how they showed it. Truth be told, she was stupidly chasing him, she built herself first rather than being completely immersed in her love interest! As someone who would never constantly pursue a man, l stand by Mumu in this drama. This wasn’t some one-sided type of love! She wasn’t chasing after a man who wasn’t going after! She wasn’t chasing after someone who hadn’t shown her how much love he can give and the world he could provide for her! As you watch this drama, keep in mind that both Mumu and Zhao had their different ways of expressing themselves and their love for each other. Even the doctor mentioned that Zhao needed psychological help thus he needed someone to be there for him not give up on him. The only thing we were dealing with here was that Zhao had battles to fight within his mind before he could even fight for the love of his life. The fact that Mumu stayed helped him heal and realize that he too is worth loving. At the end of the day he did stand up to face Mumu’s mum which was a battle he eventually needed to fight to prove his love for Mumu!

Trust Speed and love to put you through a rollercoaster of emotions! I would gladly recommend you to watch it for this! From giggling, throwing your feet in the air, leaping with joy, screaming, blushing, sobbing, and screaming, you will experience it all. I lost count of the number of times I found myself grabbing my tissues to wipe my teary eyes or the moments l had to shove myself under a blanket to giggle and blush! It’s packed with scenes in which the actors made sure to put us through the same emotions they felt while shooting this turning the drama into reality. Watching this drama till the end had to be the worst and best things l had been looking forward to! It’s too precious to let go yet to enjoyable to spark my curiosity to finish it 😭😭😭

Ummm excuse me, who decided on casting He Yu and Esther Yu!!!!! I hope their pockets never run dry because that was one of the best casting l have ever seen in Cdrama land. Before they even have intimate moments, their chemistry was already overflowing! The gazes and hot stares from He Yu meeting the innocent stares from Esther Yu could easily light up the Equatorial rainforest😂😭 The way they had me on chokehold anytime their emotions changed making sure they take me along still baffles me!

I have no complaints for any of the supporting cast!! Regardless of their limited appearances, they delivered exactly what needed to be delivered in order to make this drama a gem. Sanlai, you will forever be famous as a supportive, lovable, loving and cheerful friend! At some points he even gave uncle vibes as he always hyped Mumu while giving love life nuggets to Zhao!😂😭

Mike and Patrick’s aura deserve standing ovations! They made their appearances memorable. Jiang Mu’s dad really nailed the duality of stupidity and seriousness! Ohh Nana was such a girlie’s girl, trust me her interactions with Mumu are worth watching! The bromance un this drama is top tier! Sanlai-Zhao / Zhao-Sui / Sanlai-Zhao-Crazy Jin😭💕

However there’s no man made thing without flaws. I do wish they hadn’t lengthened the breakup time but it’s understandable considering how they tried as much as possible to follow the novel’s plot. Moreover, the long breakup time might have triggered the drama to be slow paced at some point as we became more focused on Mumu’s side of life. Regardless of this, the storyline is still enjoyable it’s only a matter of adjusting as the first half of the drama was a bit fast paced. My heart bleeds for the brutal cutting of scenes they did to Speed and love episodes. While watching the drama, you may notice unsmooth transitions between scenes or gaps in some parts of the plot. Despite its flaws, Speed and love is still an awesome drama worth sparing your time for.

The OST definitely caught me off guard! Each scene had an OST to perfectly blend with it in order to trigger all expected emotions! Ohh my girl Mumu singing The moon represents my heart holds a special place in my heart, it’s a moment I would like everyone to witness!🥹💕

The cinematography during the fighting and racing scenes is definitely unmatched! The tension they created just from the intimate scenes!!! I don’t even know if l should say either the racing scenes or the love story was the bonus because both storylines served us properly leaving no room for doubt! Ohh dear reader, dive into the pot of honey and witness a love story unlike any other! Their love story is one for the books! Despite the ups and downs they made sure to fulfill the words we had right from the beginning, “ Mumu and Zhao, the moon and sun, day and night, always together, never to be apart!” Yes, we did get a happy ending 🥹🫂💕

My biggest wish is to forget this drama so that l can rewatch it and experience all the emotions l felt initially all over again. While it was ongoing I rewatched all episodes over 6 times yet each time l was entangled in a web of emotions as if it was my first time watching it. That is just the beauty of the gem, SPEED AND LOVE!

Above everything else, the strengths of the drama undisputedly overlap the flaws! This was definitely a top tier production!! Beloved reader, even in my sleep, l would confidently recommend you to watch Speed and love!

Sometimes there’s more to people than what meets the eye!

I started this drama as a usual fan of Jeon Do yeon and Kim Go Eun though without much expectations but wooooooow!!! I cannot comprehend the amount of times my jaw dropped due to some scenes and plot twists. My ladies didn’t disappoint as they acted as even they were born for their roles. The way they portrayed their characters brought about a bit of lightness and a touch of laughable scenes to those with an unusual sense of humour like mine if l must say!😂

At first I thought we were just dealing with a psychopath as always but l honestly understand the bitterness and hatred Mo Eun had which were mainly driven by the circumstances she went through. She really was a good person who just went through horrible experiences which drove her to were she got. It’s so sad she couldn’t experience a better side of life😭😭 Kim Go Eun nailed the transition from being a cheerful sister to being a psychopath, talk about the facial expressions and the mannerisms!!!!🤝

Ohh my lady Jeon Do yeon did justice to the character An Yun Su. The way she portrayed the innocence, fear, confusion, misery and happiness deserves to be applauded. I am glad she got her happy ending though it was after a long struggle!

We thank the prosecutor for jumping to conclusions and quickly hating on An Yun Su otherwise the drama would have been one episode only! 😂😂😂😂

The OST at the end was so fitting considering the rollercoaster ride of emotions we went through for 12 episodes!

To avoid spoiling too much, l won’t say anything further. Hopefully this drama will gain the recognition it deserves!

An episode feeler!

Don’t worry, even if you do not watch it, you are not missing out on anything grand!🥺, it is enough to watch as an episode feeler. If you are patient enough the storyline is okayish to keep you watching till the end but not great enough to rewatch!

I found the editing a bit awkward at some points. It felt as if some scenes were cut probably leading to absence of smooth transitions but you can look past these if you are more interested in the plot.

I would recommend this movie if you are up for something light. Do not watch this if you are up for a deep/ intense or nerve wracking type of natural disaster plot! Moreover, the flood and how deeply it impacted everything as a natural disaster was not the intense type. I mean you wouldn’t say, “ Wow, indeed that was the great flood” after watching the drama!😂😭It felt so dry therefore you may easily feel bored or triggered to drop it.

At some point we do get the message they wanted to convey but it ended up as a miss.😭

However, Dami and Park Hae-soo nailed their roles and that can’t be overlooked!

May not be everyone’s cup of tea!?

I enjoyed watching this drama despite its flaws. I would recommend this drama to anyone who doesn’t mind the slow burn type of romance with a touch of misunderstandings here and there but that’s part of life hey. I can’t point out exactly one thing which kept me glued to the show but l did watch it from the beginning to the end without regretting it!😂 Honestly speaking, it’s not the type of story which has an out of this world storyline! DO NOT WATCH IT IF YOU ARE EXPECTING A FRESH BREATH OF DRAMA! There were so many loopholes in the drama so do watch it if you are willing to turn a bling eye to some of them. It’s not the type of drama with many romantic or steamy scenes so don’t expect that.

The leads had such a bittersweet love story which l enjoyed watching. I guess the curiosity of wanting to know when things went south, how and when they would be fixed is a huge factor that led me to keep on watching the drama. Si Ting and Le le moments were so wholesome!🥹 Feng Rui embodied fatherhood so well that l enjoyed all the father-son scenes. The drama may seem dragged but l feel like that’s the beauty of it, they are grown ups with so much to protect and lose so they had to tread carefully regardless of whatever decision they had to make. The funny thing is each time l thought of dropping it there was always something that pulled me back😂🫠

Si Ting took so much time to take action after finding out the truth. Well, to some extent l understand that she was in so much disbelief and fear which may have triggered her to trade carefully in case she lost everything once again. I wasn’t satisfied with her character development in terms of embracing motherhood and directly working on her mental health, to some extent it just felt as if she ran away. The downside of her character was not getting enough chances to showcase her motherhood side. I expected to see more interactions of them as a little family but l will settle for the crumbs they gave us🥹

l would like applaud the uncanny resemblance between the young and old Feng Rui!!! Their maturity and aura truly matched as if it was the same person!🙈The calmness and aura older Feng Rui carried deserves to be applauded. However, if he had stood his ground as a person who had his own life goals, l am sure some of the things wouldn’t have gotten as messy as they did.

I must say, in the history of toxic friends, Wang Shu Han ranks highly!!! Shouldering jealousy, hatred and bitterness for more than a decade is crazy business. I always saw her side eyeing Si Ting and found it suspicious but when the truth came out, l didn’t expect her to have gone that far! How did she even expect herself to succeed in life then while she was being a devil’s advocate full time! 😫 “Si Ting you are the other side of me l could never be!” ohh girl bye

Ohh well , Feng Rui’s mum always had me rolling my eyes 🙄 but don’t let her frustrating actions stop you from giving the drama a chance. That woman just needed someone to put her in her place earlier.🫠 Sadly we could only see the good side of her when she was no longer mentally fit.

I hope l didn’t spoil too much!🙈🥰 l watched this drama while l was in a Cdrama slump, l guess l enjoyed it because it wasn’t too dramatic😂😭l had to vent my anger here for some of the scenes😫😂

How about a love story transcending age gaps!?

This is a dating reality show worth watching if you don’t get pissed off easily and if you are emotionally strong. You might find some people irritating but you might as well brush that aside and focus on the bigger picture (a participant or couple you like)😂 It’s the type of show where some scenes or people may trigger you to drop it but there are better moments which will keep you hooked. It has its messy, dry, awkward and dramatic moments but it still can pass as a pastime watch. Sometimes the drama may be unnecessary or too much so this is heads up before you go down the rabbit hole.

Firstly, the show had the concept of younger men and older women which had a fresh idea compared to other Korean dating shows. This became the show’s weakness as well as its strength. Having this age gap made the dating show unique thus drawing attention from various audiences. That being its main highlight would keep you hooked so that you can find out who ends up with who, the age gap between various ships or how participants will handle the age gaps.
Despite this, participants seemed to have entered the show without expectations of huge age gaps which made things a bit awkward among participants in noticeable manners. If participants had joined with acceptance of potential huge age gaps relationship dynamics would have been much easier and better.

While on the positive side, this show really had interesting moments like concealed age, careers, ways of choosing dates which made things more fun! They tried their best to make sure that and relationships’ growth among participants could develop solely based on feelings rather than career and age. However, we do all know that it is inevitable to avoid some things but this concept built and broke some relationships, but a win is a win hey🥱

It is important to note that some of the flaws of the show cannot be pointed directly towards directors as other problems arose due to certain people’s behaviours, attitudes and actions. After all you can’t push someone to have confidence, self love, decisiveness, respect for others overnight. It would have been better if all participants mentally prepared themselves for the type of show they were signing up for because some of them clearly could not stand the variation in age or career differences since some women seemed more established than men. The only solution to this can be made during casting but you can never know how one may act in the face of competition or pressure 🫠

If l had written this review mid-show l would have confidently told you not to get emotionally attached to any couple as you may be disappointed but now that the show has ended, l approve of shipping any couple you like. After all, it’s a reality show, what’s bound to happen will happen just be emotionally strong to embrace the outcome!

PS: l dropped it several times after certain episodes’ endings but l still found myself continuing it because the couple l was rooting for kept the fire burning till the end!🥰 Anyway, my interest in a certain couple is the main reason l kept on watching the show because some of the stuff was either too chaotic or unnecessary.😂🙈

Save your time!

What did l just watch!?😂😭
I cannot believe that l expected things to get better as the story progressed but they got worse!
Where is the self love?
Where did we leave the ability to pack stuff and move on?
Mistakes happen and that’s okay, it’s part of life’s journey yet this drama showed us how one can go from hell back to hell in the name of love!

I highly do not recommend anyone to watch this drama unless you want to frustrate and anger yourself.😫😭

It didn’t pass the vibe check.?

This is the type of drama to watch when you just want to while up time without having too much expectations. It’s neither the best nor the worst yet it could have been better! Well, if you do decide on watching it, it’s okayish enough to keep on watching while laughing off some of the flaws🫠. I just could not bring myself to finish it because it didn’t give me the curiosity to keep on proceeding to other episodes.😫

Honestly speaking, for such a sloppy storyline most of the actors tried carrying the drama but couldn’t save it. At some point the female lead seemed to have been exaggerating her actions and acting in unreasonable ways but most times she proved to be the clever type.

As l was watching the drama, at times, it felt as if l was watching an edited version because some parts felt cut leaving loopholes in the storyline. You will get the story they were trying to convey but unfortunately the way it was delivered is not the best.

Watching it once is already a stretch so rewatching it is definitely out of question!

My heart is bleeding!

Guys l am a very patient person who is willing to keep on watching a drama regardless of how much it may drag, but this drama is really pushing me to my limits!

I had and still have so much hope in it that l made edits for the drama from the first episode! I justified the misunderstandings under the idea that the male lead didn’t want to hurt the female lead by telling her the truth about the “people she dearly loved.” Anyway misunderstandings are part of life so l didn’t let that put me off and still continued watching the drama😩

I am okay with both the leads acting, the male lead’s character isn’t the aggressive, overly dramatic or domineering type so Ren Jia Lun’s acting is fine by me, the female lead isn’t the weak type considering how she single-handedly overturned situations in the past few episodes.

I don’t know if l am being petty but tell me if it’s okay for the leads to appear for just 2 minutes the whole episode!!🥺😭 l don’t have anything against the supporting cast or their storylines because they have so much potential but why did the directors find it fit to sideline main leads like that in a whole episode???

I couldn’t bring myself to watch episode 20 today because l don’t know if there are more disappointments waiting for me, but l haven’t given up on Love and Crown yet🥺! I am hoping that the directors will do justice to all the actors as the storyline progresses! For now l am just frustrated by how they wasted the past episodes which could have been better but l am hoping my rating for the drama will increase till the end!😭

A comfort drama!

This is a very late entry but l believe it had to be done in case someone was skeptical about watching Ski into love! As l was watching this drama during its airing time and l just said, “Ohh well this is a good drama! Great! Next!”

Later on, l fell into a Cdrama slump and just needed something to watch to distract myself whiling up time so l ended up rewatching Ski into love! This has to be one of the best Cdrama rewatch choices l ever made because best believe it is now my comfort drama which l have and will continue to rewatch many times!

Shan Chong was a guy who was just living his life with just one goal of saving up for his sister while putting his own desires aside! As Wei Zhi became a part of his life, he became more curious about life, had more to look forward to and even goals to achieve. He was a calm and reserved guy who was everything the cute Wei Zhi needed in her life!

A plus is the cute real between Dai Duo and Shan Shan which was just eye candy! How can l forget to talk about one of my favourite OSTs from Ski into love, Snowy secret, Falling snow and True love! They always warm my heart!❤️

I would recommend it if you are up for a cutesy romantic drama without a dramatic storyline. Each actor nailed their role without leaving room for flaws! The outfits Wei Zhi rocked especially during the skiing trips will always be top tier for me! Watch this drama expecting to come across a cute but career oriented female and a calm but dedicated male lead. Wei Zhi delivered cuteness while continuing to be a woman on a mission to fulfill her dream! Shan Chong became more enthusiastic to pursue his dream and everything just fell into place for them!

The only downside of this drama is the noticeably cut scenes which cut short some of the fun we were supposed to experience. They either quickly brushed off some scenes or left us hanging which bruised the beauty of the drama. Regardless of this flaw, this drama will always be a gem which l hope you will enjoy!

Any time l am up for some giggles, calm vibes, nothing hectic, l know to always run to watch Ski into love!
