She does regain her powers but she gets them back slowly. She also regains her memories but it happens slowly and she gets them all at the very end. He was born with it in his heart. It might make more since as you watch the show but he doesn't necessarily hate her he just has a tough shell. He actually falls in love with her and that's why he gets so angry. He can't control his emotions because of the sprit spring and goes into a angry demon rage. He didn't realize he made a mistake until she is already dead.

Same here. The leads love story line had no depth. Every other coupled character had somewhat of an emotional connection and the leads were just automatically attracted to each other. The more I watched the show the more boring the leads love storyline became because the other characters had better love stories. I was interested in the love story of their past lives as Jing Yuan and Xing Yue but by that time I was more concerned/interested in Fu Ling and Chang.
I wish they had more scenes. Half way through the show I got tired of seeing ML and FL together.
It was definitely the chemistry and emotional aspect. The ML and FL were automatically drawn to each other, and it was instantaneous; nothing else kept them together. But the 2nd ML and FL had a much deeper emotional connection. Bai Xi encouraged him when they were younger, and he did the same for her when they were older and reconnected.

Yao is dumber and I dislike him more. Yao plotted to kill his best friend over a misunderstanding between something that happened when they were 8 years old and had no control over. Then after Suige Spared his life he plotted to kill him and his dad afraid that Suige would kill him.
The side characters have their own love stories too. The story line of Situ Ling and his familiar was an interesting twist. She loved him and he was to busy chasing after someone who didn't love him the same. She pleaded for him to love her back and he refused saying he would never be able to feel the same. Than he turned around and said those same words to Ming Yi. Pleading for her to love him and had the nerve to get mad when it was unrequited. She was a bit toxic in the end filling his head up and coaching him to be a villain. But Situ Ling always thought that of himself she just brought it out of him. In the end she was alone and they could have been together had he not learned to let go and grow out of his childhood past/emotions. I hated him in the show but still enjoyed the way him and his familiar were written. Familiars are supposed to love their owners. But she more than loved him and he would never love her back in return.
