Title The First Jasmine Spoiler
Absolutely loved the ending.
Cried my eyes out when Ye Li saw everyone in Lishan Academy again. So happy they didn't have the conventional happy family with baby (don't know why I thought I saw Cheng Lei holding a baby in a promo video), and that the support characters around our leads all survived.

In the novel it made sense. It was either sleep in the same bed as the ML or on the street, as she was jobless…
I don't consider her redeemed, she didn't take any action when she found out the truth and would have continued to live beside that man a life of luxury. Now she is a woman scorned and she sent her daughter on a revenge quest because her lover threw her out like garbage.
The FL did not forgive her and I hope she doesn't in the future either.

Yep. In order to make him less of a red flag, make her the problem instead. I hope at least in the current timeline they decide to actually communicate and resolve their issues with ML's father together.

In the novel it made sense. It was either sleep in the same bed as the ML or on the street, as she was jobless and homeless. It was really dodgy since FL became dor a while completely dependent on ML, so I understand why they did not go that route for the adaptation.

However, it's weird when the screenwriters change so much of the original story, but keep some elements that do not fit anymore so the drama plot can progress similarly to the novel.

Nothing yet.
Is it normal not to have a douban rating by now? I keep checking, but nothing. Never-Ending Summer, Love Has Fireworks and Legend of Rosy Clouds all have a rating, although they are in earlier phases compared to The First Jasmine...

I'm on episode 21 and I'm really confused. Who stayed in their hometown and who's coming back? 😭
The girl stayed in their hometown, the boy left to study and work abroad. He just came back.

Bruuuh what are these comments about Lu Xixiao dating another girl. So what? He clearly didn't even DATE date…
Even if he were dating other girls, so what? She broke up with him, told him she never loved him, that she played him the whole time and to move on. Was he expected to live his life as a monk? I don't get it. How old are these people?

these r weird plot changes..so mom was a spy now, on a revenge mission?
No, she found out after and didn't do anything and she would have kept the secret since she was reaping the benefits from the relationship. However, now that she's upset the guy threw her away like garbage, she is sending her daughter on a revenge quest. She's not risking anything, but can savour the revenge if FL succeeds.

Do people actually enjoy these breakup and time-skip dramas? Almost every modern Cdrama has the same formula now.…
In cases like this one and Speed And Love, I like the breakup and time-skip because we go from teenagers who would have f'ed up their lives if they stayed together to adults who have emotional maturity, completed educations, good jobs and financial stability and independence. Just imagine if they have a surprise pregnancy as teenagers with no money, no education, no life experience. That's a horror story, not a romance.

Title Les Belles
It started promising, although you could see the production was low budget, it was fun, campy etc. I kind of lost interest along the way and the friend I was watching with told me not to bother to continue.
I did like the confidence of the FL and the outro song.

The ML has the audacity to act like that after seeing another girl? Good thing they didn't make him a full-on…
It was one lousy date, he didn't put any effort in, and it's not like he has been dating and screwing around in the past 10 years.

Looking at how iQIYI didn’t give us express ep, I have low expectations on them giving us express package for…
A Splendid Match was in the same situation and it had express package on MangoTV, both are MangoTV productions and iQIYI/WeTV are just distributers.

Please don't get me wrong, but I simply cannot watch this drama anymore. The female lead makes decisions based…
Both are young, inexperienced, traumatised and thus make stupid decisions.

FL thought he almost got killed because of her. He came from a prominent family, with lots of money and influence, she was a gold-digger's daughter living in the slums. She had no money and didn't even get into university. So it made sense that she agreed with his grandfather that it was best for ML to let him go. Because truly loving someone means wanting the best for them, and sometimes that means you are not in the picture.

ML has emotional problems after his mom commited suicide in front of him, and FL is the first person he had gotten attached to since. From the way extreme he acted post-break-up, you can see there was a toxic element to his attachment, maybe codependency, abandonment issues etc. He has gone to therapy in these 10 years to resolve his issues.

PS.
In the novel, his issues were clearer, when he protected her from the knife he dove chest first instead of the other way around because he thought in the split second before he acted that if he almost dies for her, she would feel to guilty to ever leave him. I'm not sure if they will include this in the drama though.

Reading this comment section makes me 1) happy the ML has more empathy than many of the commentors and 2) concerned…
I noticed that people watching cdramas are overly critical of the FL's mistakes and very understanding when it comes to ML's mistakes. I call it internalised misogyny.
