Jiang Li’s father turned out to be so likeable toward the end, he was a good man, but turned a blind eye to his wife’s wrongdoings. And Consort Li's last act at the end touched me—it didn't redeem her crimes, but she did love the emperor🫠
What I loved about this show is that the characters are well-written, fleshed out, and not just one-dimensional. Every character stays in your head. Even FL’s brother’s sweetheart stuck with me.
I didn't like how they portrayed her in the series; in the story, she's nothing like that.
Oh that sucks, why didn't they follow the book? Lol. I still have my fingers crossed for how it’ll all play out cause right now, she’s outnumbered. The people whom she thinks are her pawns are even more strategic than she is. Mr Deng and Mr Xie will definitely fuck her over, I’m worried 😔
I think the female character is letting her anger cloud her thinking 😭 she’s very smart, no doubt, but overconfidence and underestimating her ex makes her lose to him all the time. I understand her anger and eagerness to make him pay, I completely do. But she needs to take it one step at a time.

Second ML didn't ‘change’ he’s always just been malicious and obsessed with ruining ML, and when backed into a corner, he decided to show himself. He’s the typical ‘good guy’ those online incels who think women or people in general should thank them for being good because deep down, they’re being good simply because they think it’ll pay off instead of just being a good person.

Her sister in the book was mean, but now, she isn't yet FL still thinks ML was the one who seduced her sister. If she noticed some things were different in others, why not the ML?
