Downgraded because they didn't have internal power? As much as I love the Wuxia elements in PA, I think it's not necessary needed in Rebirth. The plot of Rebirth can still stand on its own without it. And I still like Chu Qiao even without her ice power.

Base on the previous episodes, no. She doesn't have memories of her parents, her earliest memory is that she was a slave in Qingshan Manor, Yunniang taught her martial arts until Zhuge Yue saved her from Zhuge Huai and trained her to become a spy. They also removed her ice power to make the story more grounded in reality.

@Anemone, if you don't like it, just dropped it and move on to your next drama. Rebirth is not for close-minded people to watch. Romance is wholesome between the leads, so if there's anything red flag here, it's your bias judgment of the drama.

Even Princess Agents didn't follow the novel. So what's wrong if Rebirth tweak some elements in the story?

PA is great, but the ending is the worst ending of all time because it left me hanging in thin air. If you compare it with Rebirth, I'll choose Rebirth because it will have a proper ending and it'll not leave me traumatized with a broken heart. 😑😑😑

The story is messy for you because you refuse to understand it. I on the other hand understand it because I'm watching it without any bias or hate. If you find it boring then just drop it and move on to your next drama.

It's okay, the storyline of Rebirth can stand on its own.

Well for me who watched PA before, read some spoilers from the novel and patiently waited for a season 2 to come, it's great!

Storywise: it is a continuation of Princess Agents but with a twist. If you watched PA before, I suggest you lowered down your expectations because they omitted some elements from PA to better suit the current plot line. Story is fast paced with lots of action, romance is wholesome. Politics is dark, messy with lots of court intrigue, deception and revenge. You also need to pay attention to details, because there's a lot of subtext and implied meanings in the script.

Characters: they are great, especially the annoying ones. XD You'll end up admiring them or hating them, some will wrenched your heart out and make you cry, others will surely make your blood boil, or make you laugh lol

Acting: I'd say everybody did great and I'm really impressed. I cried many times while watching.
