Yes, I truly believe they deserve it. Zhuge Yue already died once but Qingshan Manor found him and when his grandfather used Chu Qiao and his Moon guards to threatened him, he had no choice but to devise a safe plan to save everyone. He knew the only way he can abolished Qingshan is to die, he learned that from his grandfather. So, I say he choose to die by Chu Qiao's hand to fool everyone around them. As for Chu Qiao, her final battle in episode 40 looks like a parallel of her battle in PA, when she defeated the leader of the enemy and fainted, then Chun'er came to kill her but Yuwen Yue came to her rescue. So, I believe she only fainted from exhaustion. As for Yan Xun, I believe he became demented, his memories comes and goes, he misses the past and regretted the choice he made.

Anyways, I'm taking back what I said, I can't wait for the good translation anymore so I went on to watch the machine translated sub and after watching it again, I finally concluded that it's a happy ending. Zhuge Yue survived, Chu Qiao survived the war and they settled in Ximeng to live a normal life. In the end, Yan Xun became demented while living a lonely life. He went to the frozen lake and then regretted his past choices, finally meeting Zhuge Yue, his friend, rival, foe, the person he hated but admired the most.

Anyways for me, Rebirth is still great in terms of plot and story, they showed me the human side of Chu Qiao and Zhuge Yue, they are not indestructible and can become victims of circumstances too. Looking at who died at ep 40, I didn't see Xiao Ran and Wang Shi'er's dead bodies. There's Fan Miao Miao, Lin Mu, He Xiao ( not sure ) Zhao Che and Yan Xun's guard.

But as per episode 39, I don't think Zhuge Yue died, the only way for him to escape Qingshan Manor is for him to die. Then the Moon guards arrived and the scene got cut. Then at episode 40, Chu Qiao fought and killed the leader of the invaders, then Zhuge Yue came, I didn't see any fatal wounds or blood spitting from her mouth, so I'll just think that she passed out from exhaustion. After the war, they ran away and lived a normal life back in Ximeng. That's my ending.

I think they cut some scenes in the last 3 episodes, all of them are more than 30 minutes but less than 40 minutes. 😑😑😑

Yes, it will definitely leave a strong impact. I've watch episode 40 without subs last night and until now, I find myself sobbing here and there everytime I think of Rebirth.

I'm still crying, I wanted to blame somebody but I can't point my fingers at anyone. I haven't watched episode 34 and 35 but watched episode 40 without subs and reading spoilers and analysis from other fans. I'm hoping for a HE, but I can't unsee what I read and watched. Zhuge Yue was right, he gave Chu Qiao a choice but she insisted on doing the right thing and he supported her. But things took a dark turn for them and they can't take it back anymore. Zhuge Yue cannot washed away all the sins and blood on his hands anymore. 😭😭😭😭😭😭
