Maybe I'm being biased because I love this show but I feel like it's not as recommended and talked about in BL spaces as it should be. I know it's popular but on the same time it feels so niche. Idk I just wanted to complain about it🤷‍♀️

Hey I just wanna say that I'm enjoying this show but you are entitled to your opinion. This is plateform to give your opinion on the dramas and you are doing that. Anyone who's replying rudely to you is being weird.

Call me whatever but I have a soft spot for BLs like bittersweet Love and this one. There's something cosy and nostalgic about them. For me as a older BL viewer at least. I know toxic and dubcon BLs aren't for everyone but if someone likes those kind of dramas then they should watch the missing piece.

There's an argument going on in old comments because someone said the acting in this series isn't as good as expected and people are arguing either that acting is great or they shouldn't expect great acting from BL shows. I know the "good" acting is subjective but I have seen BL fans acting crazy because someone gives any negative or even constructive opinion on their favourite ships or idols acting.

BL fans are so fried that if a casual viewer expects good acting, it offends them. I know it can be subjective but come on. Edit - I'm saying it because so many people here are getting offended because someone didn't like the acting of main leads in this show. But it's not about just this show. Most of the BL world revolves around looks and shipping culture and it's alright. Just don't get offended because some people expect acting from DRAMAS.

Why are you fighting with everyone who has different options than yours? About characters, acting and even about the rating system on this site. People can dislike something or be disappointed at piece of media and share their opinion just like you can.

I was like dude you're an actor. ACT. Smile and try to not look like you're forced to be there. Even if you dislike your co-stars, you can't let it effect your work. He's working in a very commercialized BL industry, not in a art film.

Do you work in a competitive field where one incident can have long term effects on your career?

Novel is darker and grittier than the series. The action and plot is insane. If you have a good imagination, it's like watching an action movie lol. All the things that are subtly shown in the series can be read in details in the book like Liu Yi and his brother-in-law's feelings for each other, how Liu Yi took over the gang and expanded it, how obsessed he's with revenge. Chu San's slow and steady success in finance world, the things he does to possess Liu Yi completely are crazy. The manipulative and cunning He Chu San you see in series is nothing in front of novel He Chu San. Ending of season 1 only takes us to 40% of novel's length. And it also miss a lot of complicated gang connections and serious business which are a big part of the story.

Yeah the performance was sensual but idk if the kiss was rehearsed and part of the act or they just did it on their own.

I try to read the books after watching a couple of episodes of the show so I can imagine the characters as actors while reading it. Btw did you see xizhao's almos kiss on their Thailand concert? It's crazy and I'm scared for season 2 because of the history of Chinese BLs.

Believe me I'm trying to stay calm but I'm not. I keep imagining season 2. Like how some scenes from novel would play out with xizhao and other actors. Even if season 2 doesn't happen, it's gonna play in my head like a movie for a long long time lol

No. That's why I'm trying to keep calm lol. The actors have talked about it a couple of times and some other people involved with the show have talked about needing visas to film in other country but there's no official announcement yet.
