It's very unlikely that "The Eternal Fragrance" will be allowed to surpass 10,000 heat index. There are a few main reasons:
1. Youku originally hoped fans from both sides would spend more money on cloud screenings (paid fan support), but so far there haven't been many cloud screenings from the fandom.
2. The drama was produced by H&R Century Pictures (Huanrui). Over the years, many Huanrui productions have been acquired by Youku and it's believed this drama was signed under a performance-based agreement. If the drama surpasses a 10,000 heat index, Huanrui would receive a larger settlement or payout. This is said to be one reason why the drama was suddenly released with zero promotion.
3. This is Ju Jingyi's last drama airing on Youku. Her other two dramas will air on Tencent Video, so some believe Youku has little incentive to help create another 10,000-heat hit that would ultimately benefit a competing platform.
Overall, The Eternal Fragrance isn't performing badly. Considering it's a shelved drama that was suddenly released with no promotional campaign, no cloud screening support, and virtually no advance publicity, the fact that it's doing as well as it is is already considered a pretty good achievement.
why do I feel swl's drama love for u will become a hit and this will be go to dungeon?? like where the hell are…
This has been shelved for 3 yrs LMAO, from 40 then reduced to 33 episodes, zero promotions, 24 hrs announcement before airing. But it's doing well, it broke 9500k heat popularity index in 3 days, this proves the two actors doesn't need heavy promotions.
It's crazy how she has so many beautiful childhood photos, yet antis would rather believe heavily edited videos and manipulated images, they still refuse to accept them. At this point, it's clear that it's not about finding the truth, it's about maintaining the hatred they've been pushing for years
for the first time I am liking jjy's acting but she needs to improve alot it's not the best but atleast okay
She's a good actress, it's just unfortunate that negative opinions tend to spread faster online, and once a certain image of an actors becomes a trend, many people simply follow it without giving their performances a fair chance
Can mdl ratings be manipulated? because how did it get a 7.9 score when almost every episode is rated around 9?
It's weird because some dramas has 8.0 mostly every episodes but the rating is higher. I don't know if it's mdl system or admins are running the ratings.
It’s not only for her. Youku is a small platform compared to iQiyi & Tencent. Youku hardly do promotion.…
iQIYI didn't promote her that much, but Youku is by far the worst. Out of all the dramas she's starred in, the ones that aired on Youku received the poorest treatment. Three of her dramas were only announced 24 hours before airing, and unlike other productions that get extensive photoshoots, magazine features, and nonstop CP promotional content, her dramas got almost nothing. Lmao. Yet despite all that, she still brought Youku a huge amount of profit.
Huh? What's with those ratings for Eps 9–33? Don't you know your ratings will be considered invalid and may even be flagged as spam since those episodes haven't been released yet😂
It's really because of the bankruptcy. Hunrui went bankrupt after their major artists left the company.(renjialun, chengyi)There wasn't even proper promotion for this drama. It was supposed to be an S+ production, but there wasn't even a banner for it on Weibo
That part was so questionable. Like why didn’t he explain himself that he doesn’t belong to her therefore…
Just a reminder that this drama originally passed the distribution license with 40 episodes, but 7 eps were cut due to the bankruptcy of the og production company. Anyway, the plot has remained steady and is progressing smoothly so far, only minor scenes were cut.
