I don’t see where your comments about the story itself justify such a low rating. In fact the same exact wording could be used to give the story an 10-star rating. Everything you said is true. The story of young King Dan Jong is most definitely heavy and how he was treated is deeply troubling. The history of the Josean Monarchy was all that and more. Like other countries, Josean had good and bad kings.
This is a true story. Overthrowing a rightful king and exiling him fully expecting him to die an early death was unethical then and would be unethical now. But that’s what happened. He would have died early, as planned, and not found true meaning to his life had it not been for the Chief and the villagers.
What about this story was frustratingly manipulative? Was the writer manipulating the viewer?
It seems you left out details to support your position.
How would you have written/directed it so this the story was better???

You might want to watch this film again. I think you misinterpreted Warden Heung Do’s actions. He was NOT a traitor to King Dan Jong. In fact he was the exact opposite. First, the warden was put in a no-win situation and had to choose his son’s life over the king’s. The king fully understood that decision, it is why he continued to leave the magistrate’s compound. Second, in front of Myeong Hoe, KDJ quickly grabbed the warden’s collar screening at him, accusing him of being a traitor to him in order to SAVE the villager’s as well as the warden’s lives. It’s what a true king of the people would do. Third, WHD, in absolute anguish, carried out KDJ’s last request to end his life his way, not at the hands of the executioners.
The love between Heung Do and Dan Jong was mutual, beautiful, and full of trust. How could it be interpreted any other way?

Talk about pushing someone to making an extreme choice!!! I thought that just before the last scene in Ep 4.
Interesting thought that they are blood related. That would be a super interesting plot twist - and if so, it’s probably Teacher Do. Seems most logical at this point.
I doubt it’s that Jeong Yo’s ‘father’ can’t stand the sight of him. His pushing him away to protect him. But another reason to give up on life.

Both boys are between a rock and a hard place for different reasons. My heart goes out to both of them. They both want what every child / adolescent needs - acceptance, love, and nurturing from those that supposedly love them. The lack of these critical needs is why so many young people make wrong, life-altering decisions.

So far, the driver in this story is Pi-O’s mother. Not even the narcissistic, beyond self-absorbed with his very breath. grandfather. She doesn’t have it in her to accept defeat of any kind.

I’ve been scrolling through these comments and am beginning to see a pattern. I think some posters (KSH anti-fans) are goading you. They see the depth to which you respond and it just seems like they are enjoying poking you with a hot poker by repeating so many of the same things they and others have posted - posts that you have also responded to.

The other thing I’ve noticed in general, not just in my recent scrolling, is how the vast number of her supporters are defending Kim Sae Ron as KSH’s accuser. [I suppose because he defended himself he is, by default in their minds, accusing KSR.]

Her family and Kim Se-Ui are KSH’s accusers. KSH defended himself against THEIR accusations. Attorney Ko was clear about what he and his team were doing, clearing him of the accusations against him made by the aforementioned accusers. They deliberately kept KSR out of their defense work as much as possible - to the point where Attorney Ko warned KSR’s mother (in November) not to continue defaming her daughter’s memory, to which he didn’t listen.

In their, now defunct, attempts to smear KSH, it is Kim Sae Ron’s family that actually defamed Kim Sae Ron. Especially now, since the investigation looked beyond those accusations to determine that KSH in no way had a relationship with her as a minor, KSR supporters should be talking about how her family and Kim Se-Ui defamed her. That is, if they truly support her. I recall early on, her husband released a SM message saying in effect “don’t look at Kim Soo Hyun, look at her mother.” No-one on KSR’s side seems to remember that. Are they true KSR supporters and or defenders or just haters in general?

Nevertheless, keep up the good work championing the fact that truth matters - by showing us what it actually looks like.

This has been investigated every which-way to Sunday. There is no evidence he did anything wrong. Not because he’s a celebrity or because he’s rich. But because the authorities did their job. If you have more proof, bring it. I’m sure the authorities will be happy to have it. If not then stay silent about the accusations. Why didn’t KSR’s family release her phone? Could it be because there was other evidence on it, not related to KSH, that would have made them liars? If they were so intent on bringing justice for their daughter, they would have willingly given up her phone to the authorities. There are so many unanswered questions on the family’s end. But the haters have it all figured out on KSH’s end, even better than the investors.

Again, that heinous, very serious accusation must come with irrefutable evidence, of which there is NONE. If there is no evidence, then your post is defamation. Pure and simple.

Just to add…., Because of his ability to hire the legal team he hired, other innocent celebrities who fall victim to cyberbullying can thank him for exposing cyber defamation for what it is. The law is changing due to this case - thanks to kSH’s legal team. High-profile, innocent victims can fight back now, too, and not leave their industry or make the extreme choice so many others have made before them because they didn’t have the ability to fight back.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I’m sure I read that once the investigation determined the evidence brought to them was fake, they went several steps farther. They concentrated on both KSH & KSR’s timelines and any other verifiable evidence (digital or non-digital) there was from her minor years in order to independently determine if KSH actually had a relationship with her while she was a minor. They found no evidence, independent of the fake evidence, to support the accusations. I can’t find that article but I read it in the last couple of weeks.

Here’s why you are a troll -you are about stirring up emotion to slander someone. You are not in honest pursuit of the truth. If you did as much as this MDL poster (in the link) did to explain themself then I could respect you, But you just say words without any backup, either to express an unintelligent, willfully uninformed opinion, OR to sway public opinion in your direction.
