The toned down version was necessary here because I heard he was a cheater in the novel. Romanticizing a cheating character as some perfect loverboy wouldn’t have been a good idea.

But Xie Zheng in POJ didn’t need to be toned down that much. Even though I loved the character, he lost a lot of his original personality traits. They went out of their way to make the villain worse than in the novel while making Xie Zheng into only a husband.

Prime time tv slots are akways earned because of the actors popularity or the writer’s reputation, not because of the plot itself.

This is exactly what I mean by hating for the sake of hating. The drama showed the girl the Queen Mother was hiding. She spoke to her before the girl ended up in police custody. Either you missed that scene or didn’t even watch the drama but now you’re blaming the writers for forgetting the plotline

Some people just seem determined to hate no matter what. Yesterday, people were complaining that focusing on the political elements would lead to a rushed ending. Today the drama gave a pretty detailed ending while wrapping up the political plot early and people are still unhappy for some reason.

I can pretty much tell which actress’s fans are making fake accounts to hate on the drama. There’s a clear difference between simply not liking a drama and actively trying to hate on it, people can spot it.
