Until almost the end, she was clinging to the SML and claiming to love him. But once the ML risked his life to save her and she found out the SML was a hypocrite framing him with fake evidence, she suddenly wanted the ML. She said she was disgusted by ML's touch and that was enough reason to send him to jail but then suddenly she loved him?
Then at the end, she says she took revenge on the wrong man after seeing the truth. But he was always the wrong person, he was just a child when his father harmed her parents.
She wanted to abort the second child so badly at first, then suddenly that child became her life. She probably aborted the first child while saying it should go to hell too. She was the real hypocrite here. I don’t understand what the male lead was so obsessed with.
People call Xie Wei a red flag and some even call Xie Zheng one. I liked both of them but this is the only Zhang Linghe character that actually felt like a red flag to me. I’m dropping this drama so I can keep liking him
Tbh, her becoming a general felt forced and out of place. She had way more aura when she was providing for her family, beating up people in her village and never taking crap from anyone

Never thought I’d dislike a drama because the male lead was too nice. At first I felt bad for Yifan because of her past but Idk if the writers intentionally made Sang Yan this pitiful. I was so frustrated with both. There was barely any effort or feelings from the female lead’s side. I don’t understand why he was so into her besides the fact that she’s pretty. This drama gave me the same feeling I had while watching Playful Kiss, just with the roles reversed.
Loved this one. ML did questionable things at first but the FL also tried to kill him four times. He later stabbed himself and once took poison to save her. so I guess that balanced their equation for me. Their chemistry really made it worth watching.

Yes I hope they don’t change his character too much here. Some red flag elements are fine because they make the character feel more human. From the synopsis, it seems like she leaves him, so it wouldn’t be unreasonable for him to hold some resentment over that. Too much modification just turns characters into flags instead of real people.

The toned down version was necessary here because I heard he was a cheater in the novel. Romanticizing a cheating character as some perfect loverboy wouldn’t have been a good idea.
But Xie Zheng in POJ didn’t need to be toned down that much. Even though I loved the character, he lost a lot of his original personality traits. They went out of their way to make the villain worse than in the novel while making Xie Zheng into only a husband.
