It’s important to have a diverse portfolio in acting roles to show his range if he wants to be a respected actor.
whether its by choice or ability, I've seen that a good number of lead actors/actresses just try to do similar characters/roles in order to keep their public image. stepping outside of your comfort zone is a gamble majority of the time. and that's why some don't prefer it.
but i do agree about your typecasting part. it is real in dramaland. many actors/actresses suffer from it esp supporting ones. its not easy to overcome your breakthrough image in the industry.

being respected in your profession is nice and all, but at the end of the day, making a good consistent living matters the most.

Title Knock Off
if a period drama like 'river where the moon rises' with expensive sets and costume (as compared to a modern setting) can be reshooted, then these lot can do it as well

2020 dramaland roster was lowkey special-
Alice in borderlands
Into the ring
Mr queen
The bad kids
SF8
The victims' game
The world of the married
Road to murder
All this with some decent romcoms sprinkled in between.

Nice read 🙂
Dr Romantic ones are the most memorable ones listed. In HP, nurse assisting Ik Jun also comes to mind.
Will try 'Daily dose of sunshine' at some point. Have seen too many users praising it on feeds.

you realize MDL has thousands of shows right.. I get some are rated rather highly but that's wild.
nowhere in my comments did I asked for users to move like professional critics. I know likeliness/ personal (or recency) bias will always exist and impact ratings. And that's perfectly fine. What I asked for is to have some kind of benchmark and a bit of comtemplation and earnestness before rating a production. That's not a lot to ask out of seldom drama enjoying folks let alone regular ones.

nobody said it's a math problem. users like to hide behind this subjectivity/liking but the fact of the matter is that they cannot admit that they aren't objective enough while rating a production. You can like a production and still see it's flaws. Similarly, you can dislike a production and still see it's merits. if more users had some standards and a tad more earnestness then you wouldn't see so many extreme ratings like 10 or 1.
ofc you can always watch after going through premise/cast/production crew. nobody is stopping anyone from doing that. but the rating scale is there for a reason. it's supposed to be a barometer to discern good from mediocre/bad productions.

nothing 'wild' about it. quantity DOESN'T equates quality. 9+ shows should be in single digits. such shows are meant to be gold standard for dramas which are great in all the technical aspects as well as writing/acting department from beginning to end. Such impeccable shows aren't released every 2 months.
since I made this comment, 2 more dramas are about to hit 9.

This show is so so good and every episode is full of craziness.I don't understand why the ratings are so low???
haven't seen this but to answer your question, majority of mdl crowd nowadays like fluff dramas with lots of fanservice & little to no plot. they prefer perfect characters from the start itself over any development throughout the story

Nevertheless deserves better! Idk why people hate it so much because i really enjoyed it. Not only did it give…
Direction was good, music was nice too. Leads were okay. I think biggest issue with drama was runtime. 6 hr long eps were more than enough for that story + that ending soured the audience.

I know it's spinoff but is it really that important to watch the parent story? That story is too long for a laptop…
it's not. if you're here for the cast then just watch this. check out the parent story if you're into slice of life genre.
