ML-FL dynamic is just too much of father-daughter than lovers. felt weirded out watching some of their scenes especially in first half. if writer aimed for that dynamic instead and centered Sunny-Grim Reaper story as tragic romance one, this drama could've been special.

music and Sunny/Grim Reaper dragged me to finish line.

she's a typical damsel-in-distress and has no agency in the plot. there's no way you like such 2D characterization. and audience likes proactive characters over perfect ones.

it's not a terrible watch. but the execution behind this eccentric premise is very mundane and flat.

production and airing channel made the final call on casting so the blame regarding that will be laid at thier feet too.

or someone like Lee Hee Joon or Lee Sun Kyun. or any experienced actor with flowy and quick vernacular.

watched an ep and whew this is one hell of misfire on cast. drama producers need to stop casting these pretty boys and girls from chaebol romcoms for such characters. this role warrants a normal looking dude with a bit of a belly.

on one hand, it seems like a bit of a stretch that a major corporate would spend money to create a buzz about its content on here considering how braindead and shallow majority of users are on this website. other social networking websites would be enough. but on the other hand, this website gets good traffic coz of its database of East Asian content.

all the characters mentioned in drama carry a certain tone of eccentricity and offbeat mannerisms. he has found his niche and there's nothing wrong with that.

I am pretty sure I said that it isn't possible for him to be typecasted unless he wants to put himself in that box.
And different genres don't mean much when his characters carry a similar demeanor or vibe.

I want to say he's typecasted but that is not true for leading faces in drama. It is true for those playing same evil side characters in different dramas.
actor knows who he is and stays in that lane. there's nothing wrong with that. this is true for many Korean actors/actresses. they always play a certain type of character as a part of image they sell to thier audience. they see the character which has given them popularity and try to emulate that again and again.

drama would be special if there was some proper drama involving FLs. both of them are written to be cardboard caricatures at best.

Ma tan scenes with his family and team leader are hilarious.

comic scenes between couples pales in comparison to any scene involving side characters from office.
