90% of drama plots don't deserve 16 hrs show-and-tell. that and lazily hinging on cliche tropes (esp in romcoms) gives rise to these types of issues in dramas.
again stop assuming. comedy is the ultimate genre imo coz for both audience and people working on it. I only said that bringing up critical reviews as a benchmark for a product that's clearly meant for a relaxation and laughter is bs. sitcoms are not looking for niche audience or some critic praising them for some joke they did. popularity is thier ultimate prize. becoming popular (aka large crowd finding enjoyment in a product) is the goal of a sitcom production. so it wasn't a contemptuous comment as you may think it was.
wife-son/uncle subplot is absolute basura and production should've given all that screentime to dive into hate-companion relationship between Seungchon and Yeojin. it would make his romance with Juhee look 'little' more sensible.
haven't watched more than 3-4 eps of either of these shows. but given the flat comedy they had in the beginning, I'm sure they must've focused on romance coz they ran out of comic material.
