its a drama not real life. everything is overdone and exaggerated to provide a compelling narrative. I mean there's an 8 yr old is handing out life advices to her mother, amnesia nonsense, 2 idiot thugs and much more.
and as far as consequences for mother, she got cancer. can't really get worse that that except losing family.
