Kang Pil Sung is just showing that nice can be the new sexy! I didn't think I would find him attractive, but his ADORABLE character just won me over so quickly! Now I see him as super sexy! <3
Yup, that is my concern also. I hope the writer will twist the story in a way where we wouldn't feel her absence.
It was apparent in the episodes these week that she needs to be sitting down (since she can't put weight on her leg), but it wasn't too obvious at least!
I'm still struggling to get into this drama. I'm at episode 13 and I don't really feel hooked yet. In fact, I feel quite indifferent towards it. Neither hate it or love it. Just... meh. Will probably give it till the halfway mark to see whether I'll finish it or drop it.
So apparently Go Ah Ra's Yeo Ji won't make an appearance from ep 27-32 due to her injury. Hopefully they'll be able to keep the story going without making her absence too obvious.
Considering all of her problems related to her face (that her husband obsessively loves), I found it weird that…
It's still a stretch, though. She could've just said, "I don't care, just give me a different face." That would be more in tune with her state of mind, rather than specifically looking for a face that would please another man and potentially land her in the same situation she's trying to escape.
I mean, it's a small detail and doesn't detract from the enjoyment of the show, but it rubbed me the wrong way. Because one who has undergone such trauma would never take a chance of it happening again.
But well for the sake of drama, attention to detail seems to go out the window I guess, lol.
I'm only starting episode 6, but I'm enjoying this show! But I just had to comment on something that happens at…
Considering all of her problems related to her face (that her husband obsessively loves), I found it weird that she would invite the doctor to give her a face he would like (paraphrasing a little: "If there's a face you like, feel free to make me look like her"). I mean... THAT was the problem that you're trying to escape in the first place! Why would you ask someone to give you a face they would like. Even if the Dr. isn't as psychotic as her husband, she shouldn't (and in all honesty wouldn't?) take that chance!
That's the one part that pulled me out of the narrative completely and makes me feel like the writer dropped the ball with his/her choice of words.
I'm only starting episode 6, but I'm enjoying this show! But I just had to comment on something that happens at the start of the episode which I found really bizarre.
I'll add it below and tag it as a spoiler just in case. Though this is something that you might expect given the premise of the show.
I am a total psycho for asking this. But do you guys know any similar dramas where one of the main male leads…
Noble, my Love | Guy is super obsessed with her and even isolates the FL, forcing her to depend on him. Of course, that's portrayed as romantic since it's a rom-com.
Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo | ML is obsessed with the FL, but there's a really big love triangle/square on this one since it's a reverse-harem.
Kill me, Heal Me | 2ML (who's one of the personalities of the ML) is obsessed and possessive of the FL. Highly recommend this one if you haven't seen it.
i've never once seen a synopsis and found out it's all a total lie. i wrote this synopsis above based on the original…
Kind of makes you wonder what would be the right thing to do in regards to the synopsis, right?
Currently the plot-twist was pulled off because the synopsis "mislead" us into expecting a very specific something from this show: fantasy, time-travel and a suspend of our disbelief.
So, naturally, we'd be surprised to find that the story is actually portraying the very real experience of someone with Alzheimer's. It was the misinformed synopsis and the incorrect genre which created the real "twist".
But here's the thing. Many people (for obvious reasons) feel cheated precisely because of that marketing strategy (you could even argue this trudges into false advertising). Some even dropped the show altogether before realizing what it was really about.
Yet, if the synopsis were to change to fit the actual plot (so people would at least be aware of what they'd be signing up for), then they'll most probably lose the "wow factor" of the reveal. Which, IMO, would make the show lose all impact.
In fact, I'm not even sure how one would go about writing an article or review about this show :/.
I enjoyed this "slice of life" drama. It had a solid plot which made use of beautiful metaphors. The characters were relatable, each offering a different experience based on their own problems and solutions. And the actors did a great job at portraying each of their colorful characters.
Of course, because there wasn't really much of conflict (no antagonist, if you will), the pacing slowed down towards the latter half. And though that's usually a formula for boredom for me, this show managed to keep me invested.
Though this may be a one-time watch, I still recommend it. Think of this one as a feel-good drama with mature characters that struggle to find their place in life after stumbling, falling and getting disillusioned --each character trudging through a unique path but all of them towards the same destination.
Right ;the story is interesting enough and the character are intriguing but the editing is near unbearable at…
Indeed, it feels very amateurish, tbh. There are shots that are drawn out unnecessarily and it feels like it's done more to buy time than as a tool to further the narrative.
Unlike most of the people commenting, I actually found the first two episodes a bit boring and with glaringly obvious continuity errors. However, the show got better with each episode for me. So I am interested to see what'll happen next and the type of relationship our two protagonists will develop. I am liking the FL so far. She's showing some real badassery, which is always appreciated!
Ok, I was impressed by your article. I dropped the show and don"t intent to pick it up again, but I was amazed…
Thank you for reading the article despite dropping the drama. My background is actually in communication with a master in advertising (art direction). So while I did take 2 film classes during my undergrad, most everything I know I've picked up for my love of film and, most importantly, my interest in visual communication. :) That's why I always try to communicate things in a way anyone would be able to understand them (it's my goal and what my undergrad was all about)!
So recieving comments about how well explained things are show me I've accomplished my first goal. If someone enjoys the article on top of that, then I've achieved my second goal. Of course, there's always room for improvement ;).
Wonderful article, I really like your sarcastic way of writing! I had The Great Seducer in my PTWL, but after this, I'll probably save myself time and just delete it, lol. I had to drop WWWSK while it was airing. I muscled through to episode 12 but couldn't anymore. I tend to get bored when the story is more fluff than substance.
Still need to watch Mr. Sunshine and Sky Castle (this is next on my list).
Oh, and I also finished Korean Odyssey somehow, lol. It's such a strange strange show and the silly effects made it hard to take it seriously.
