Same!! I don't know what they are thinking, doing just one ep a day... and the VVIP that is one ep ahead of everyone…
It seems to be happening with every drama these days, so maybe it's just how the licensing or airing schedules operate

You are free to not like or not watch any drama you want. No one is forcing you to watch this or trying to change…
"it could be" and "appears to be" are not the same as "it is", "they are", so it's speculation

they said it as a maybe, not as a certainty
it's flippant at best and just doesn't matter at the end of the day. it's fine, i just feel like the reply was overreacting even though i disagree with the original comment

oops sorry I thought you were using just one as an example but meant both. either way the same thing goes. The quote you used feels even more like nothing remarkable. I have nothing against you or Shreya fwiw, I just disagree

You think "it could be fans", something that they aren't even saying is definitive fact, is toxic??? They left room for it to be false. Your reply to them was fine anyway but thinking it's toxic is incredible

They can speculate out loud all they want but it's not like they're right. As long as they're not harassing people or encouraging others to harass people it's not anything. Just some randos opinion is not going to invalidate me especially when it's not even true. They didn't call us stupid, they barely even said anything. Also their one statement about fans is speculation, but pointing out reviewers seem to have no prior experience is an observation. If saying "it could be fans" or "no prior experience" is is enough to make you feel invalidated, I have no idea how you will ever handle being around other people. They did not direct the comment at you and made a general statement. If you want to disagree with them just say it, but "no one's forcing you to watch it, it's not your place to question people" is dismissive and just actually invalidating lmao. This is the place to question people actually, the internet is a town square so long as you abide by ToS. What bothered me is that you can't handle others' most basic opinions without taking it as a personal attack. You could have opened up discussion about the drama with them if you really wanted to disagree in a reply, state your own opinions, have an interesting interaction with another person's perspective. Or you could have moved on. When women talk about their issues with men on the internet they inevitably get "not all men" comments, but do you really think they meant all men and invalidate then?

Isn't that their comment though...? It's literally just them saying it's not their cup of tea with their subjective opinions. You did not need to reply, because no one is forcing you to hate it either. I'm having a good time with this show, but unless I feel like someone is completely misinterpreting the text there's no reason to be bothered about it. Why not just respond to them by discussing the things you like about it and have a conversation instead?

fom the dramas i've been watching over the past year, MDL comment sections seem to have a bias of disliking traits in female characters that they would like or otherwise accept in males

As an audience member watching the drama, you do not care if the scenery is real or fake. What you want is to…
Exactly.. Even if you wanted the realism of the environment, if you have no access to a place that isn't despicably cold why go through that? The biggest realism is in acting first and foremost, if we can't believe the performance then the rest will feel fake too

《 To be honest, there are many things in life that can't be solved. When something is beyond your capacity, no matter how much you struggle internally or drain yourself mentally, it's useless — it simply can't be solved. That way, not only do you feel miserable, but the problem still isn't resolved. So I'd rather stop thinking about it, and just let it go. 》 This was the most depressing quote in the article to read. This man is burnt out 1000%. At the very least, he needs time to recover from that.

When I entered college, I was very ambitious and energetic, had much the same energy. I had all kinds of dreams and used to have so many stories in my head.
Now I'm about his age, and I have changed like him - which is why it's depressing.
I became like this because of disillusionment, under the weight of a flawed world crushing you down under its boot. I am still recovering from burnout, but nothing can recover my dreams, my ambitions, my faith in the world or my belief that a better world is possible. I am always so, so tired.
What exactly do I have to be excited about?

She gets to show a lot more of her acting chops in this drama and I absolutely LOVE it!
YES!! Literally looked forward to this airing to be able to watch her in it LOL
I think she does a really good job of showing HSM's personality both directly and indirectly. Yes she can be aloof and indifferent, she can even be commanding and callous, and then she'll spend her time with the senses having fun playing around. The difference is highlighted once she's in the void, where you can see more of the reasons why she behaves the way she does in different situations. She *had* to be able to be cold, commanding and stoic because of the nature of her position, so while having sense allows her to experience being human, being around Duan Xu himself lets her experience being a *person*. She doesn't have to be the Sovereign all the time

I just entered the spirit world in novel and he's not useless. he's learning the hierarchy and have met a Chong…
He needs to learn about her and the void for the sake of not only the plot but the narrative requirements for the relationship to be able to succeed permanently later. She almost went with him to Nandu, but if she had, probably not enough would change about their relationship for it to truly materialize into anything that lasts. This is basically a narrative device that happens in a lot of stories, where a couple almost gets together but something holds them back at the last second because they haven't actually solved all of their problems yet in order for the relationship to truly work out (which usually those problems also tie into the plot). It also lays out the reasons why HSM has reservations ab letting herself have feelings for him, and answers questions the viewer might have ab why they can't just be together now (i.e. why cant she just take him back to the void and why can't she just be with him in the human world - he needs to have his sense in the void to clearly show that it really isn't good for humans to live there)

But also, certain characters need to see his relationship to her, see he has the sword, etc. Setting up a lot of things for the plot later. I imagine both the war and the void matters might intermix later and have some shared problems. I don't get why people think nothing is going on when there's clearly a lot going on, the same way people complained several episodes of POJ were "filler" until they saw the narrative payoff. Is it just impatience?

I would like to point out a few things if I may just to have a reality check! 1. Artistic freedom is non existent…
Everyone should be reading this comment! ^^^^ Remember to keep your critical awareness of the media you engage with so that you can enjoy the things you like while not falling for propaganda, and recognize that a lot of the artistic decisions had to made in the context of passing the censorship of an authoritarian regime
It sucks but it's important!

I don't understand why they would bash the actor, the Director was only following what was written in the book.…
in recent years the CCP has taken on a very antagonistic stance to 'feminine men', like the way kpop idols look
this is more of their propaganda, and since there is no freedom of speech people can't take a stance against this when it's coming from an official military account unless they want to face the consequences
imagine how much more could be done with art if the whole world didn't put so many various limitations for their own agendas, smh

Title Love beyond the Grave Spoiler
Question for novel readers…
According to a comment elsewhere there is no amnesia arc in the novel, so I'm just gonna pray they handle it well...

Considering he just got politically stripped down and literally said that now the army will have nothing to do for a while (because of the political intrigue and hierarchy), what exactly is he supposed to do that can't just be done when he gets back?

People seeing a character with personality and layers: ?????

DX has had a really consistent portrayal the whole time, idk what makes people unable to read the screen since he showed he was sly and capable of amused banter right from episode 1, along with having a penchant for levity (which apparently some people can't grasp as a coping mechanism and think every traumatized person has to be dark and sober all the time). By some of the logic I've seen in the comments you'd think they expect a newscaster to go home after work with the exact same speech and stoicism as when they're on the job
