I agree with Go Back Couple. After finishing it, it left such a great impact on me.. it made me feel really sad to let it go. idk there was just something nostalgic and emotional about it.
my 5 underappreciated dramas would be: 1) My Mister 2) Because This is My First Life 3) Go Back Couple 4)Come and Hug Me 5) Familiar Wife
thanks for this article! I only saw one drama from this list, Goblin, and I didn't like the drama or the female lead. I understand why she's like that but it's not enough for me to like her, still. she was always crying and whining and she had no presence in the drama.
my version of the 3 female leads who can't help but win:
My Mister - JiAn. this girl did almost EVERYTHING on her own. she planned everything on her own, she outdid the male characters, she was strong but not edgy or pretentious about it. she was also very soft-hearted and sweet. I loved her SO MUCH.
I Hear Your Voice - Jang Hye Sung. she was also very independent bold but also really sweet. she grew up without a father, and ever since she was young, she did such a brave and challenging deed which haunts her till she grows up. she doesn't back down, regardless of the villain. she also protected her man so many times, so it was a great thing to see when they show women protecting rather than being the one who's protected.
Familiar Wife - Seo Woo Jin. this is a light-hearted drama so I don't have much explanations to her character except that I liked how tough, dorky, and loving she was. she wasn't a pushover, and she was determined to get through whatever she chose to do.
if he liked her he'd be jealous of ahn since ahn and jaein are a couple but he isn't so he doesn't like her romantically!
I really don't think he does, the drama just wants to confuse us I guess?? if he liked her, he would be jealous and all but he's actually pushing ahn and her together. I ship jisoo and seongmo all the way tho!
This is such a level headed comment which surprises me that it began with telling people to calm down. Why is…
yeah I agree! but people here (and on other sites as well) are being very rude about this discussion which is why I want people to calm down since it's only a drama. We're being called psychopaths and murderer-lovers so that's who I'm directing my previous comment to. since it's an open discussion, people don't have to be so rude and accept other people's opinions.
I'm sorry if I sounded rude at first. I didn't mean to, I was only defending my stance.
But he is in fact mentally broken, and has paranoia and aggressive tendencies, I guess you have a point with how…
yeah ofc! but some people are about to murder us for wanting him together with Sunny... I want him to redeem himself and be a good guy so it would be very possible for Sunny to like him.. many dramas had that kinda relationship where they hate e/o at first but end up liking each other!
you all need to calm down because this is all based on the writing of a person's imagination aka a script writer. as for me, I like the emperor's current self, not his past evil self. I just cant understand how did that evil guy transform into some pitiful funny puppy it doesnt add up but okay it's just a DRAMA so I'll just continue liking and shipping the current emperor's self with sunny. the problem isnt the emperor or his fans, it's the poor writing which makes it hard for us to take this drama realistically when the writing of a character is just scrambled all over.
until the writers make me understand how he became this soft when he was so evil in the past, I'll continue liking the emperor for who he is NOW because it's only a writing guys. a script that an actor is following. im not putting too much into the drama or his character unless the writers put more thoughts into how they make a character.
i love how everyone is appreciating lee joongi in the comments. i just started liking him in may although i knew about him ever since moon lovers. im late but his acting is just beyond phenomenal, in all his dramas.
not that he's underrated, but everyone seems to know about him in moon lovers and that's it. his acting in other dramas were probably even better. his other dramas have great plots as well. it's nice to see people appreciating lee joongi for more than just his role in moon lovers.
What bothers me most (as a westerner viewer perhaps) is when even though the leads are obviously over 25, and…
i get what you mean but not every couple has had sex before marriage. i love my bf and we're always together but we still havent had sex and we're pretty fine living like this. there's more than just physical skinship with the partner you love :)
im sorry if i sounded rude i just read my comment over again and i realized i sounded pretty angry and rude. i didnt mean it! i respect our differences. i hope you enjoy the drama though!
im only watching it because i have nothing else to watch. im sorry but the drama isnt worth it. it's exactly like Secret Love and the female lead in Time is really weak. her acting isnt that great. the story is dragging.
first of all, it's a very entertaining article. thank you! as for shin se gi, the writers of the drama wanted to make it appear as that rijin accepted both dohyun and segi as one person (which they are, dohyun and segi both literally say "you are me and i am you" at the end. and rijin kisses segi as a way to show that she loves him. she even says that they're so similar and she loves them both. they're both one person at the end of the day. segi is inside of dohyun in many subtle aspects. it's really beautiful how she didnt end up with segi but also, she sort of did!
I think it's so important to create a strong female lead. writers need to spend time writing a female lead with more effort because they spend their time trying to romanticize the man dragging a girl out of a place, while grabbing their wrists like it's some rope. they spend time making the male lead super hot, smart, strong, a good fighter, tough, but it's not realistic. no offense but men arent what dramas portray them to be, neither are the females. they makes females so stupid and emotional but in reality, men tend to base their decisions depending on their emotions. they are driven by jealousy ego and pettiness. Secret Love was able to portray this really well. as for a female lead, they either make her helpless kind and submissive or rude, aggressive, smart, feisty. A perfect female lead would be someone in the middle. someone who isnt always trying to cause fights, but thinks and stands up for herself and her people without jumping too ahead of herself. Because It's My First Life was able to create a great drama character. ive never seen anyone as nice, independent, lovely, smart, strong, honest as yoon jiho.
my 5 underappreciated dramas would be:
1) My Mister
2) Because This is My First Life
3) Go Back Couple
4)Come and Hug Me
5) Familiar Wife
