There is a huge difference , then su jin also love ye hua, zhi he also loved her foster brother .. but the difference is they were ready to destroy relationships of the person they loved. If they can't be with their romantic interest then no one can. This is the difference which makes them antagonist..

Where as YCW and FJ never imposed their love on the other party.. YCW who liked to be called brute just stood in the corner watching the woman he loved crying for someone else while swallowing his own sadness , he was ready to wait for ji Heng in the shadow till she sorted out her feeling.. that's how true love works. YCW is really dumb but he never intentionally harmed anyone.
When it comes to FJ she did so many sacrifice and went through so much trouble because of her love for DH wen DH didn't even know abt her existence still she never balmed him or went to the heaven realm to reveal that she was the baby fox to emotionally blackmail DH coz her love was true

In the novel jiheng litreally thinks that the person she has to marry should be a refined person so her brothers choice (DH) was a better match.. but since Minshu has always been with her she chooses to marry him(her)..

FJ and YCW thought JH and DH were lovers because they didn't know abt the promise, but JH did so how does this make any difference ? JH purposely used YCW to escape from Fin valley and entered that poison mountain to get bitten by those poisonous creatures so that she could blackmail DH by using her own death on his wedding day..

Infact ji Heng in a way is worse than su jin. since Sujin had grew up with yehua, she thought he is her only family and loved him since she was a child and it turned into obsession when her love wasn't reciprocated But JH is litreally a stranger to DH yet DH had helped her so much just to keep the promise he gave to her father. Still she tried to destroy his happiness by trying to scare away FJ when she got he hint that DH likes her. Unlike YCW, JH is not dumb she is a smart lady who understand that for DH there are only 2 types of woman 1) his queen 2)Everyone else and she knew that she was one of those "everyone else"
JH is the typical white lotus , her type of fighting for love was to destroy another marriage ceremony.. so far I have read she has done nothing to redeem herself.. let's see what future has in store for her if she gets a cameo in lotus step

Started watching this drama with high expectations after seeing it's popularity and also because of the actress (she became my fav after watching Story of ming lan) after watching few episodes I'm struggling to carry on with this boring plot, it has a cliche plot of female protagonist climbing the ranks through her hardwork and skills, plotline is more sadistic than captivating.. I can't believe how those sworn brothers / group act like it's absolutely normal to hunt young girls, even those who didn't support were still okay with this game , didnt put up strong opposition to stop it. So when the story shows those bystanders as the good guys and flirting with the FL it's makes me want to puke.. all of them deserve to die .. there are major flaws in the script.. lack of conscious exhibited from the characters and tone of the plot for such scenes make it's frustrating to carry on.. plot is boring and all over the place .. does it get better by the Ep30?

I think I should have used the term embarrassed instead of humiliated (this was in reference to the novel) once JH finds out that Minshu is a woman she becomes embarrassed because she made a fool out of herself and then goes to Fin valley to cure her poison..

JH not knowing FJ backstory doesn't matter coz JH knows DH never shared any kind of bond with her, she knew the only reason DH helped her was because of the promise he gave to her father.. She knew DH never treated anyone like he did FJ (in Fin valley) she got the hint that DH might have feelings for FJ and she also knew she didn't mean much to DH than a promise to keep.. hence she corners FJ , says mean things to her in a sugar coated words because she thought chasing away FJ might give a chance to capture DH's attention..

I mean you'd think she will learn from her first mistake of chasing the wrong person to love (minsu) but she does he same again and again while being down right mean to the person who really love her, YAN CHI WU.

Which is why in the novel the ending for Yan chi wu and ji Heng was left open , since she has a habit of chasing the things she cannot have than giving importance to the people who genuienly cared for her.

(Unlike in drama where it shows JH didn't have any interest in marrying DH in the beginning , in novel she had a crush on him and would often tease Yan chi wu by comparing him to DH that's why YCW believed that DH was pursuing JH and went to challenge DH many times..

OMG!! Bai qain never had mortal birth , SuSu is BQ with her memory sealed temporarily by Demon king so ofcourse Yh treats her as the same person because she is the same person... u are not even understanding the diff between mortal trail/mortal birth and immortal getting his/her power sealed up..
Infact apart form Donghua and Song ji's son none of the character go through proper mortal trail in the Ten miles universe (period)

Coz the mortal arc of D and F is divided in books "peach blossom" and "Pillow book" .. peach blossom consists of 1/4 of mortal arc which was used in TMOPB drama so ELOD couldn't use that bit so they had to make few changes, also they couldn't get Yang mi to do more cameo, they were lucky that she was able to do the wedding episode. In the mortal trail BQ changes the fate of Donghua and fengjiu gets stuck because of that. Without fengjiu help donghua trail couldn't have happened and BQ would face a serious trouble for altering D mortal fate. Once again SH is a mortal birth of D , SuSu is not the mortal birth of BQ understand the difference.

Qingti is super important to the plot, without his death F wouldn't understand the consequences of ill fated couple, she wouldn't avoid D like plague after the mortal realm arc, then she wouldn't have fallen into Finyin valley , she wouldn't have the reason to pick pimpon fruit, she wouldn't risk her cultivation to fight python If she didn't have a life Dept to pay, futher aranya dream wouldn't have appeared , then Shadows of D & F will never get a closure to rest in peace, Finyin valley would never be freed from the Chen ye's curse etc etc

How did F mess it up?

When did ye hua mourn for the fairy after coming back to his original form? That was my point. I also clarified that ye hua punishment was different which didn't involve restoring the cultivation

Once again ur comparing two different thing, SuSu is not mortal born, she just had her power sealed so it was literally Bai qian in her original form without immortal breath. This was not mortal trail, it was immortal trail to accend into a high God, A COMPLETE DIFFERENT SCENARIO
U also forgot ye hua and bai qian were fated couple hence no one could rip them apart, where as F & D are ill fated, acc to heaven they shouldn't even have meet to begin with..

I'll explain in details of F life, donghua has saved baby fengjiu (wen she was around Ali age) so she was in love with donghua from the moment she could understand the meaning of romantic love, then she spent good amount of years on pursuing that love which goes more than 2000+ years. After the misfortune she suffered she learns that donghua and her are ill-fated , acc to heaven law , going against it's course will cause serious consequences to pay so fengjiu decides she will move on from donghua since her love was not the obsessive kind, but when she learns D is going through mortal trail she learns this isthe only place she can repay his Dept, only by repaying everything she owed to donghua she can have a clean break from him.. but in mortal realm she struggles to keep her feeling in check but does a good job.. mortal realm was like a warning to show wat will happen when a ill fated love becomes mutual. Mortal D falls for Fengjiu, from then on the cycle of tragedy starts which results in the death of innocent parties (Qingti) .. this is where she realises the extent of consequences. mortal realm served as a fantasy example for the real deal. For ex let's just say Donghua meets fengjiu at a early point and falls for her then the tragedy would end up in the deaths of the either party or the death of their closed ones ( best comparison would be the Demon Lord and Bai qian, they were ill-fated couple still they ended up falling in love which kick started the series of tragedy which ends with Bai qian broken heart , almost dying coz of that heart break and Demon Lord dying at the end of the drama) this was the significance of mortal arc, it is the place where F really pays her Dept and decided to make a clean break from D ( fortunately F love was one of a kind, it was unconditional and selfless hence at this point Heaven changes it heart and decides to give them a chance , this has to be first time in history where heaven changes it's decision because it was moved by one's selfless love)

Exactly !! Even though I agree with Sujin point but since these dramas are based on novel those changes effects the core plot.. director should have the vision to make such changes or else he/she should stick to the original novel plot.

The plot of pillow book is really superior in the xianxia genre, but the production dragged it because they lacked the skills of narrating a storyline..

The cast and the iconic moments in the novel saved the drama.

That's the point, Generally the mortal D's memory will not got back to the original , so technically it makes them different person yet the same (if that makes sense) So Fengjiu has to detach herself from the mortal emotions (even if it's difficult for her ) because it's just a trail, which means nothing but to help DJ regain his cultivation. For ex: wen ye hua enters his mortal trail, even though his was different scenario where he held the power of his own fate. Did he ever mourn over his emptiness for waiting more than 25+yr for his fairy ?

Or when lotus ye hua lost all of his memory of Si yin when he was born as immortal ? Did that make all the time he admired si yin in his spiritual ( or ghostlike? ) Form any less important?

This drama shows the real meaning of mortal trail true to the novel. Mortal trails are important only for recovering cultivations or serving punishments, not for immortals to get attached to the emotions of their mortal lifetime. Hence the rule existed that no immortal should remember his mortal trail in general (but there were few rare cases)

Fengjiu holding on to her time with mortal D is equivalent to holding on to a fantasy / illusion. Why would she do that when she already has real experience shared with the real D to hold on or to mourn? The main point of mortal realm arc for Fengjiu was to repay donghua dept by helping him gain back his cultivation through successful completion of his trail And she did that. This is where she really repays D's Dept. That was the significance of mortal arc. And this also the place where she clearly breaks her connection with D as her final goodbye and decides to let go because they are not meant to be and fate cannot be forced. Hence she starts avoiding D when ever she sees him after this arc (because she had no idea abt the heaven's change of heart after seeing the selfless love of little fox)

In novel donghua doesn't remember mortal trail, where as in drama he remembers bit and pieces (which can be considered under those rare cases) still those memories were nothing more than a dream u have on deep sleep which lingers for a while just after waking up to vanish completely so it doesn't change the original plot of novel as well.

Change in donghua personality was obvious because had never loved in his entire life so he was always indifferent towards female population, but fengjiu changes that for him she is the only female that succeed in making donghua fall in love so his personality towards her becomes complete opposite to his old one ( cold- faced god) to God who is completely in love and protective of his queen. He acts childish, becomes jealous only for Fengjiu this was the character development of Donghua..

Where as side character "ji Heng " was whitewashed because the actress who played the role had the copyright for the drama, jiheng is really kind in the first half of the book but when she learns her guard was a women, she feels humiliated and becomes obsessed with Donghua just like his foster sister because jiheng in her head believed that she and Dongua were fated couple also in novel yanchiwu and jiheng doesn't become official couple, it was left with a open ending.

But in "ten miles of peach blossom" drama, the production didn't have copyright for the story of Donghua and fengjui so they made up 90% of their story.. this drama is the real version of Donghua and Fengjiu story line. Ill-fate works different for every individual in case of Donghua and Fengjiu their ill- fate was never to meet each other face-face forever that's why such a long journey was needed for these couple just meet each other face-face in their original form, by that time lot of emotional damaged had already happened to fengjiu she genuienly started to believe she can never be with donghua, like it's impossible for them to become official couple hence So many misunderstanding happens through their surrounding people's (side characters).. try reading the novel u'll understand the changes made in drama.

U misunderstood the part why Siming says mortal donghua isn't the real Dongua, it because Immortals are not suppose to remember the trails they go through in mortal realm in the mortal form, that's the whole point of "MORTAL TRAIL" , which is similar to how a immortal forgets his real identity when he is born as a mortal.

That's why Siming says this is not real Dongua or his reincarnation since this mortal lifetime doesn't retain it's memory. This is also the reason why it was difficult for Fengjiu to keep her emotions in check because when ever she sees the emperor she immediately sees donghua in him, so it's basically one and the same for her then why would she remember or mourn over mortal donghua when she is already mourning over the real one? She is still struggling to get over her 2000+ years of feeling she has for donghua.. Qingti becomes different since he was real person who lost his soul to demon sword while protecting fengjiu..

Am I the only one who hates how jiheng has been whitewashed in the drama? Jiheng (in second half of the novel) and Zhi he are the "Su Jin " version of this drama, where Zhi he is shown with her evil side, jiheng character was changed.. jiheng plays a crucial role in creating misunderstanding between fengjiu and donghua deliberately just like how Sujin cooks up stories for SuSu to make her misunderstand ye hua and jump from the terrace.. just because the actress who played the role of jiheng had the copyright to the series, to please her the antagonist role was transformed into pitiful girl, which not only caused damage to the main plot, But also ruined the hardships theme of MC. I really hate when this kind of celebrity service happens in the drama. Her character even got shoved into the arcs where she had no place to begin with ex:- mortal realm arc..

All the "Eternal love" fans who are not liking this drama should remember how vast the casting was in the first installation.. in Eternal love of dream that cast is cut to half because many former actors weren't available, the important missing characters are mo yuan, ye hua and bai qian.. on top of that there was lot of issues with the copyright, the actress who bought the copyright for pillow book wanted play the role of Fengjiu.. after the outrage of fans many company jumped In to buy copyright from her with certain deals made in her favour (hence the whitewashing of the character jiheng which is played by that particular actress) on top of that they changed the production team as well.. the entire series was carried out on the shoulder of actors who played the role Dongua, fengjiu, siming, liansong and yanchiwu which is quite difficult in comparison

Infact in the novel "Ten miles of peach blossom" Donghua hardly makes any appearance the only time he is mentioned was during mortal realm arc where he is born as the emperor and the father of Yuan Zhen and few times when bai qian is remembering fengjiu love for Dongua, that's it.. it was the production of TMOPB that made the full use of characters by inserting them in important moments to increase the appeal for audience.

You would be suprised if u had read the novels first before watching both the drama u'll find out how boring and uni dimensional "Peach Blossom" is where as Novel " pillow book" is very well written in every aspect. The Key for the drama adaptation was the production team, TMOPB drama had many improved scenes with many side character getting solid background which was the hardwork of director and the drama scriptwriter which made the drama very compelling to watch but when it's comes to the drama adaptation of "pillow book" apart from Graphics and brilliant costumes script didn't add any brilliant improves to the plot infact it whitewashed many sub-plots , the director lacked the skills of narrating a novel in the right order.

Yes mortal names are same in both books.. since the author divided the mortal arc of Dongua and fengjiu between the book "peach blossom " & "pillow book" and didn't explain ending (mortal arc) in details it became little confusing.

I was talking about the book itself, in the novel "ten miles of peach blossom" the majesty has first wive who becomes nun and their son returns to the kingdom from temple after 16, concubine Chen saves majesty from drowning and he falls in love with her, but bai qian manages to save the son from calamity and Qingti is not mentioned in the book "peach blossom" hence it was confusing while reading pillow book..

Where did u purchase the novels from?

In the novel the final battle includes all the high gods Iike mo yuan, bai qian, ye hua and its the kunlun mountain that suppresses the demon but unfortunately they couldn't get those actors for cameo so they changed it.. and also the novel ends with a cliffhanger where fengjiu still is in her coma stage which is the effect of "fate enquiry".. which highlights the fact that Donghua and fengjiu are truly an ill-fated couple but are meant for one another.. that's what makes them unique and special compared to others.

Eternal love mainly because of the antagonist who are shown in their true colors which adds to the emotional struggles of the leads where as in this drama antagonists (except miao luo) are kind of whitewashed which doesnt add excitement to the plot..

The graphics in this drama was so good especially the battle sequences.. and all the realms were brilliant to watch. Donghua and fengjiu are definitely " one in a million" type of couple..


And the comic part of this series lot better than TMOPB , the first position definitely goes to Donghua's sweet and sour fish, Si Ming and Lian song reactions was too good after tasting the fish.
There are other moments like Su moye dressing up as donghua, Dongua reactions when fengjiu ignores him (after mortal realm arc) etc..

The downside of this drama is that few arcs were a bit draggy , minor antagonists were whitewashed, few side characters got unnecessary screentime and lot of former actors weren't available for cameo which required to make minor alterations to the plot (mainly the final battle sequence)
