Watch taiwanese time- travel drama 'Someday or one day'..It's really good..
I love Chinese novels but I hear because of government censorship laws the tv shows with time travel usually end in a sad way... is this show like that?
It's making me laugh-- the husband in the show is younger than the wife but the irl actor is 2 years older than the actress. Really hate when they try to portray younger actresses as old and cast older actors as young.
The show is great and I will continue to watch, it's just a gripe of mine.
IMO this movie would have been unmemorable and mediocre without this ending. I dislike bad ending in horror movies, but that's because the characters go through a lot in the movie itself. For Seo Yeon, if the movie ended with her mom surviving she would have ended the movie off with a better life than the beginning (cause her mom wouldn't have cancer). At that point, there's not much dread left behind and Seo Yeon doesn't really suffer (?) She's not exactly a great person, she basically killed her dad and spent the rest of her life gaslighting her mother even till her deathbed.
I thought this drama was going going to be amazing! I was all abroad until episode 13? 14? Literally used to wait for the episodes with so much anticipation... they really went ahead and did a full character assassination on Jun...
Despite the shit ending, I have to say Lee Jae Wook really proved himself once again. Go Ah Ra is also quite likeable, characters like this suit her bubbly vibe. Will be looking forward to their next drama!
I was satisfied with the ending and then the credits rolled and THAT ending left me so confused... I don't think…
Yeong Sook killed her mom, so she's trapped in the house. Because the time in both timeline flows at the same rate (ie: 1 day in past is 1 day in future), it probably took sometime for Yeong Sook to kill Seo Yeon's mom, which is why she was able to meet her mom and walk in the cemetery. But then YS killed her mom and kidnapped her, so she wakes up in the house again
Future Yeong Sook knows what's going to happen to past Yeong Sook so she told her to keep the phone on her at all times. That way she knows the result of all of her actions and can warn her ahead of time if she does something wrong. Mom disappears because past Yeong Sook survived the fall and killed her. Since she's now alive and able to tell both the past and the future, she's basically invincible and can prevent herself from getting caught. She imprisons young Seo Yeon. Thats why older Seo Yeon wakes up in the chair, it's because she was kept in that house the whole time. Without anyone to look for her, she's doomed.
Wow this was a crazy good film, kept me on the edge throughout! What’s everyone’s interpretation of the ending,…
Future Yeong Sook knows what's going to happen to past Yeong Sook so she told her to keep the phone on her at all times. That way she knows the result of all of her actions and can warn her ahead of time if she does something wrong. Mama disappears because Yeong Sook survived, and this means that young Seo Yeon was taken by her. Thats why older Seo Yeon wakes up in the chair, it's because she's lost.
Throughout the movie it is never Seo Yeon who does anything to directly stop Yeong Sook, it's just that her calls to Yeong Sook impact her actions which then impacts her timeline. Since no one in the past is looking after Seo Yeon (aka her parents are dead), and because Yeong Sook is alive in the future and has taken over the phone and the past phone is past Yeong Sook's hands-- It means Seo Yeon is doomed.
When I tell you my heart DROPPED! Can you imagine going through something that traumatic, and when you finally think everything is fine, the moment you let your guard down, the worst possible reality comes true. Seo Yeon walking forward as her mom disappears.. the electricity... the shift in saturation and hues... Really pulled the whole vibe together!
This was... AWESOME! It would be super cool if PSH did more movies and dramas like this, the genre really suits her. I know a lot of people might not like the ending, and normally I'm also against endings like these in horror moves for no reason, but this one was well deserved(?) It really pulls the whole movie together.
If someone knows any more movies like this, please let me know!
After episode two i am divided. The dads are super funny and the strougle this moms go through is real
GOD YES!!!!! Is that birth care centre just a networking centre??? Like literally why aren't any of the specialists who should have dealt with a couple hundred kids helping her? Why should she have to get help from a mom of 4 instead? I really hope that the new girl that they showed at the end of ep 2 straightens things out cause wtf is it with the breastfeeding idolization?
I've noticed that I seem to like most of the 12 ep shows I've seen. At first I was worried cause I thought they would still spend the same amount of time on useless side plots or extend the show by creating rifts between the leads. Imagine my delight when I saw 365 Repeat the Year and there wasn't single wasted scene. It just feels like with a 12 episode drama the writers prioritize the actual plot and make good use of the limited number of scenes.
Don't get me wrong, I love the show too... Just that shows like this aren't very memorable in the long run cause they don't have an overarching plot to be remembered by
It feels like tv stations are progressively reducing the number of episodes. At first it was 12, which I think was the sweet spot, then 10, which can work still, and now this has 8.... I doubt they'll have an overarching plot for this show.
Wait wait wait . I don't get many things but one of them is : When Jun confronted his father , he ran away the…
Mom covered it up. I'd guess the tight leash on Jun was a partner affair, dad probably didn't have the time to be in his business while running the hospital. The dad probably didn't expect that out of his wife so he hasn't thought that hard about it.
I ca 't quite put my finger on it but I have this nagging feeling that Dal Mi knows the truth. Every time Do San slips up she's not all that surprised. TBH Do San isn't a lot like the letters Ji Pyeong and grandma sent, things like a suits, watches, cars, and an office can be faked... but you can't do that with personality. The letters happened over a long period of time and they constructed a whole person, no way can the real clumsy socially inept Do San live up to the cool and charismatic fake Do San.
I could be wrong, maybe Dal Mi's oblivious to it. But dear god it would make things easier if she knew the whole time.
Jo Bo Ah is great in her role here, she's very believable and fits the smart PD image (and actually smart, like if the viewer has caught onto something, likely she has too). Lee Dong Wook also does great in his role as a Gumiho, even his visuals match up.
But there's no chemistry. Literally the romance feels flat and flavourless. Every time LDW talks about how he loves Jo Bo Ah's character(s), it's like... I can't feel anything. The expressions are there, the words are there, but it's just not believable that he would like JBA.
Every single person in the cast delivers and they are very much believable in their mythical roles. The plot pulls you right in but then either JBA or LDW make lovey eyes at each other or make a sacrifice (bridge scene anyone?) and it's like a sucker punch to the face.
Since LDW fits the role so well, I think it would have been better if they had cast someone else instead of JBA.
So GOOOOOD!!!!! I had high expectations for this show and I have to say that the first episode went above and beyond. Kim Wook is absolutely hilarious, and the vibe of the village is a bit mystic. The decor, the manner of speaking, the clothing... all the little details make for a very warm yet eerie picture.
Does anyone also think that the Doctor while talking to his son on how he will be able to get the job he wants…
I think so too! The look in his eyes and the background score really made it look like he was plotting something. That scene finally convinced me (I wasn't entirely happy with the reasons they gave HS in the flashback) as to why the doctor couple would let Hyun Soo live as their son. It's so that their real son won't fall behind in life if he wakes up!!!! They can just get rid of Hyun Soo and put Hee Sung in.
The father is a director at a big hospital, I'd assume he has quite a bit of influence. It shouldn't be too hard to fake an accident to kill Hyun Soo and then bring Hee Sung unsaying he lost his memories. They can explain Hee Sung's weak body that way. Maybe do some plastic surgery or SAY that there was plastic surgery to explain Hee Sung's face.
Also, we know that the doctor couple think that Ji Won is stupid from the first episode, so it makes sense that they would underestimate her and try to fool her with their son.
The show is great and I will continue to watch, it's just a gripe of mine.
