I liked mortal arc, but it was too long and I'm afraid there will be tons of cuts during the Fanyin Valey and Aranya plots TT

And Dilraba looks much better when she has something to do than just being poised, sad and crying. It does not fit her. She should have more actions and be lively, but not childish. But that's a whole different story - and it will never meet my expectations :P

the only things that always pisses me off in c-dramas is the dubbing - man, like it's so irritating sometimes when you know how the actor sounds

yup, as far as I know we are free to chose - I love them, binge watch them otherwise drop or comeback later or switch genre.
E.g. normally I don't like to watch dramas as they are airing - too painful to wait. But this is my exception. I've waited for it, read the books and I'm very pleased with the outcome. It's very accurate. Fight scenes are nice, I did not skip them (surprisingly), CGI is on point.
But I understand it's not for everybody. Like I love "Flame's daughter" and all my friends think I'm crazy and it was pure boredom.

it's a fantasy drama and even now sometime we can be wrong about someone's sex, just because of clothes. Don't get to serious - again it's a fantasy... then we would have to complain about all that magic in the series or main characters immortality.

In the books - DH was in the mortal realm to recover and officially was said to experience misfortunes. FJ went there to help him, not to disturb and she accomplished that by breaking his heart. It will be visible in the next episodes.
For me it's a more or less good way to show that FJ is maturing - she'll stop chasing DJ against her true feelings.

agree, agree! It's easier to comprehend drama story line and then understand the main love story in the future. I'm not complaining. I love it and with every episode more and more.
It's interesting. I'm not annoyed by the development or characters.

Holy crap, I love mortal realm arc - it's funny, action packed and still charming - and FengJiu is not a whiny maiden anymore. Love it!
