Thing is, when I look at them I don't even see the gap really....maybe I see it because it is being talked about but I don't think she really looks older than him really. You can see he is young but still looks quite mature when he has his hair down for some reason. His movements are purposeful. He has a sturdy figure and I believe him when he gives commands. You know what...I was happy he shot the soldier that was heading to kill her when she was avenging A'dou but I am surprised no one asked Sun what was up with that. She doesn't even know he did that. He is always thinking about her safety. He really wants the best for her. At the end of the day it is a war and he has to answer to Great Khan or whoever it is

yes, you are right...it would be a foreign concept for her. She is not Changge. Changge was a princess as well but I guess she has swallowed her pride to achieve bigger things in her eyes. Le Yan has still been living a soft and sheltered life and hasn't experienced the world and doesn't have the same tactical training to survive (I am talking mentally, I don't expect her to be a warrior princess like Changge. In some ways, I am glad they are not the same. Someone needs to have some softness.

point taken. She is slightly tougher. I was proud of her when she threw the flour in the soldier's face. I just think that accasion may not have been such an important moment to take a stand. Current crown prince said something along those lines to Changge in ep. 1. Something about weakness until you can make a difference.

Yes a pin cushion - good analogy. And it always seems to be on her left...I think if he missed it might look weird to some of the soldiers because his aim is s good. Thank goodness his aim is so good that he could avoid her vital areas. It was an unfortunate situation though. I am not sure he thought she would stand up though soon afterwards. It was unfortunate she had to get stabbed. Wish they could have done some movie magic but I guess in Tang dynasty times....doing a fake stab scene wouldn't be so easy.

I know she is kind. She is a good, honest person but in episode 13 I was a little annoyed. She didn't want to kneel when those disgusting soldiers were pillaging the area. Yes, she is right that the soldiers were in the wrong but she should try to understand the idea of living to fight another day.

yeah le yan will be his trigger. At first I imagine him doing the right thing just because it will please le yan but hopefully he will eventually do the right thing because he believes it is the right thing. I think we should give him some grace because we can see how the influence of his father would affect him. In one episode his father even told him having no personal attachments is the best way to live. He want his son to be a servant, a robot it seems. I think he is attracted to le Yan but he doesn't allow it to control him or let his feelings develop. He probably doesn't even know how deep or not they are. Probably can't imagine a now princess caring about him and for now it's true - le yan doesn't like him but nothing to do with his station in life but I guess he has never come across as endearing. Now she heard him telling his men that they could kill her beloved shuyu. Sigh. Ok said more than I thought I would lol

Yes, I agree that you can't really notice an age gap. I also like the incorporation of the manhua.
And Hao Duo. I am hoping to see a positive change in his character as he falls in love. I imagine he probably feels grateful to his father for adopting him but I hope he can draw the will to disobey him.

omg. I have been searching in vain for a series I could truly love. This might be it!!! The series that will truly draw me in. Great so far.

I also love that she is a great strategist and basically smart. Such a great combo. Only thing I hope she has good chemistry with the male lead. I know she will be strong character that will not need to depend on a man but I still want some romance please. It could be like two brilliants minds getting together. Just watched the first episode on viki. I like her uncle. It was a bit surprising when he suddenly attacked her with the dagger but I know it is just a moment of mentorship. I like him but the synopsis basically says her family will be killed so that sucks. ....
EDIT: watching ep 2....is the uncle a traitor? omg
