What I'm saying is that realism is good but not everything because some of us think brownface should be avoided on TV. And c'mon lakorns are not known to be the most realistic. People watch superman, without clark kent having the perfect disguise. In lakorns and other shows the person with the painted brownface is not portrayed as level headed or extremely smart or other things like that, but wacky and making weird facial expressions, a joke and generally not attractive. Brown people are also portrayed as thugs doing the dirty work of the rich characters. As I said before, we will never agree. It's okay.

Ok, one thing me and you can agree on is that the change in Koo Kaen Saen Rak could be recognized by the ML's family if they would use their brains. I do think the FL does look quite different but not different enough to not be recognised. That is also a writing issue as well. I believe they shouldn't have written that she met the family before her change but only observed their poor behaviour. She hadn't met the ML as far as I know, so no problem there. Anyways, is her 'disguise' any less believable than one of the most famous characters of all time - Clark Kent (Superman)? Clark Kent took off his glasses and pulled a curl down on his forehead and suddenly he is unrecogniseable as Superman. This is hardly realistic. His face was plastered on the front of newspapers. Someone must realise the likeness -at least someone working at the newspaper he worked at - but no. All of this to say, that disguises don't have to be perfect on fictional shows although that would be great. And it would be good if we could avoid this without doing brownface.
Beauty is subjective and therefore personal, cultural. Some people I find beautiful you may not, but there are also international ideas of beauty and usually they are not super inclusive of dark or brown people although these ideas are shifting. People are starting to look more at features, smoothness/ eveness of skin etc. not only colour. I suppose there is also a general push to say that everyone is beautiful. I'm okay with that but still believe that some people will always be considered more attractive than others. One skin tone should not be automatically more attractive than another. Some black/ brown people will not be considered attractive and some white etc people won't be considered attractive. Everyone is not going to stop traffic. I don't think Faidam is being portrayed as attractive. Not only does she put on the brown makeup, and wear baggy clothes, she uses a ridiculously large that many people would have normally removed because a mole that large is not usually attractive. A smaller one, yes, it can be, like with celebrities such as Cindy Crawford. I think the show is going for wacky but loveable, not physically attractive. What you said at the end, "I am wondering if the Male lead will like the tanned girl first since he doesn't like girl he met at the airport.".........I hope he does. I would hope he falls for her before he finds out Faidam is not who she says she is. It would show he doesn't care about her mole, skin or social status...at least. And ok, maybe she shouldn't do a prosthetic nose....you could be right. It could offend some someone maybe but I still think altering her face shape somehow is a good way to go. I think we shall have to agree to disagree.

Yes, white western women sunbathe but if a white western woman goes to most countries in the world she will be considered 'beautiful' and she can decide whether to sunbathe or not. Black/brown people don't have an option (like the actress in this show can take off her makeup anytime and become more beautiful - according to society's ideals). Ok, so I get that you are saying that the desire to have whiter skin in Asia is not due to colonialism but I suppose due to your own unique history, classism (darker skin from working in the field) but I've seen stuff about getting surgeries to have noses that are narrower and higher etc..which in some people's eyes may seem to look a bit more caucasian but there's probably an explanation for that too I suppose. There were other ways for the main character to disguise. She has money. She could use prosthetics on her nose or chin or something with the same wig and clothes. In KOO KAEN SAEN RAK, which I am watching, the main female lead initially has a huge mole, freckled/ acneic skin and messy hair but then has a whole makeover. They don't use the whole dark makeup technique.
Not bad so far. I wish Kawin would be a little less agressive. How many times is he going to stop her from walking off? Hmmmm I must say that the friendship between Nabi and Pongpop has really struck me. There is a level of comfort shown that I don't think I have seen present in male/female friendships in Thai dramas. Oftentimes, it's a big deal if a male and female spend the night together or the guy walks around shirtless like in episode 2. I really like the genuine friendship between Nabi and Pongpop. I can't really remember many male/female friendships in thai dramas in which the male best friend isn't interested in the female romantically (wouldn't mind a little background). She knows he is a bit of player and she wouldn't approve of that lifestyle but he's a close friend so I guess she helps him in times of trouble.
I'm am 1/4 way through episode 2 and I feel slightly confused about her overprotectiveness. From what I've seen....she…
Yes pancake and Cabbage I think you have some good points. I'm still trying to figure out how much of a villain she is. Wondering if she had to do with her sister's death but I must admit her sister seems like she was horrible to her.
Honestly I want to smack not just Kawin but also smack the crap out of the aunt. Why the heck is she so overprotective…
I'm am 1/4 way through episode 2 and I feel slightly confused about her overprotectiveness. From what I've seen....she was the one who gave birth to Kawin. So I understand her motherliness but she is going overboard when she has her employee spy on kawin and wants to know if their is any female more important to him than her.
thankyou for replying. Seems to have some messay relationships...cheating husband, young male prostitute (reading the description). Will check out the trailer.
genuine question. Just a little clueless about this although I watch a lot of dramas. Who is in the 'top spot'…
oh ok, thankyou. Learned a new term - koojin. I like both guys but yes I could imagine yaya making nadech more popular. I feel like Mark may be doing more work though when I check to see how much lakorns they've both been doing recently. Though Nadech does have a movie with Baifern that just came out I believe. Speaking of Baifern....another question...Yaya is no 1 I assume and Baifern no 2 in terms of popularity? Where does Alek Teeradetch fall? I quite like him.
If Mark continues to choose good scripts in the future, he will secure the top spot like a king he truly is.https://www.thaiupdate.info/actor-worldwide-dec-2020/

keep going because her character development will shock you in a good way :DD
Thank you. I needed to hear this. Watching episode right now in which she jumps on him in the bed. She is not attractive at the current moment in any way.
